Wait, the Yotes are already talking about moving away from SLC?

If Palm Springs won't get an NHL team then I hope they move to Sheridan, Wyoming.

The Jets moved to Phoenix the year after Shane Doan's rookie season. Now the Coyotes are moving to Utah the year after Josh Doan's rookie season.

Congrats on getting a team!

We will constantly make fun of Utah for being boring, but don't take offense. I'm guessing 95% of us have never been there. We tend to beat stereotypes and tropes into the round.

/Fuck Dallas!
I went there once for a conference and it was dull.

And I'm from Columbus.

Of course, you didn't have you mountain bike with you and a couple of extra days to visit Moab.
It was actually quite beautiful, and a place I could probably live due to the outdoorsy stuff around and the fact that I am not much for bars and clubs. Probably a lot like Scottsdale in that regard for me. But I am not a 23 year old guy making around 7 figures a year.

The weirdest thing to me was that they rolled the sidewalks up at 8. The company that was holding the conference held the after conference networking/party in their offices because there was no venue that would stay open long enough. They wanted me to come back this year, but I'm like "Aww, sorry. Just had knee surgery".

Took on multiple dead contracts in order to meet the cap floor (i.e. not serious about icing a competitive team)
Various reports of employees being treated badly
His son oversaw the drafting of a prospect who multiple teams had removed from the list for bullying (Mitchell Miller)

Yeah, let's give this guy another team :L

He has the opportunity, but what are the chances this guy gets his shit together and builds an arena.

Not sure how long his option is for...

Utah is actually set up pretty well with a ton of cap space and a bunch of draft picks from their annual fire sales

Seems that the Arizona Coyotes twitter tagline changed from "Hockey belongs in the desert" to "Hockey belongs in Arizona". Guess that's what happens when the team moves to a different desert. You gotta get more specific trying to convince people of your bullshit.

They also blacked out and stopped providing score updates across all their social media.

The one positive that has come out of this is that youth hockey seems to be flourishing in Arizona. Hopefully that will continue despite this setback.

I am hearing rumors that the team will not be renamed The Massacre with a logo of 3 Ms to commemorate part of the state's history.

Utah Jazz are selling out games despite a crappy team - I would say the market size doesn't matter near as much as having fans willing to attend 41 home games a season. They never had that in Phoenix / Glendale.
