the coaching staff except for Mclellan should be shit canned

he should be the first one out the door. he is NOT a good coach. his record is what it is cause of the talented team he was gifted, not because of what he did. you coulda put me behind that bench and they woulda won a ton of games too and that hardly means im a good coach.

Hey maybe Doug should hire Ron Wilson as a asst. I'm sure he can motivate Marleau.

Actually, if Grandpa were willing to be an assistant, that would be interesting to me. Toronto had an amazingly bad PK this year, but I dont recall our PK being so bad when grandpa was here. He is a relatively defensive minded coach, so maybe they should?

Of course, as I said before, I would still love to see jacques martin brought in for the Defensive purpose. His PK resume speaks for itself, and he would be ideal in that role. Not sure he wouldn't take it either since SJ is a good organization, and he is unlikely to find anything else given the ignominy he suffered in MTL.

I am actually OK with keep Tmac here since outside of the PK, he isnt all that bad. If that problem were fixed, the sharks not only would have won the division by a large amount, but they wouldnt have had to play so fearfully of taking penalties allowing for a more aggressive forecheck and more physical play. You cant bang the body if you are worried about the occasional boarding or charging call being an automatic goal against. Furthermore, successful PK's build momentum, and that too would help the sharks.

maybe Martin and a 3rd line is all they need, though I would like to see them add a top line mobile Dman, since outside of burns and boyle, the D was pretty much slow and useless on the offensive half of the ice with so-so passing ability (murray, white, vandy are all basically pylons, and pickles and braun skate reasonably well, but neither could pass or shoot worth a damn). Just look at the difference between a pylon like huskins vs. a much more mobile and two-way Dman like colaiacovo. Sharks could still need a suter-type.

There's a better chance they bring Zets back then good old Ronnie as an assistant. Besides, RWils ego is way to big to come back to San Jose in that role.

That's too bad.
Well, it looks like we're in for another 10 years of the Sharks being almost great and pathetically soft.

If the Jackets are smart they'll keep Richards as head coach and I don't see Granato leaving Pitt unless it's to move up to a head coaching position.

I'd like to see Ricci behind the bench to coach the forwards then see Wilson bring in a veteran assistant who's a PK specialist to handle the defence.

Marchment is in the Sharks org now isn't he? I wonder if he's any good at coaching. The way I see it, he can't be any worse than what we saw last year. Having Marchment and Ricci behind the bench could very well turn the Sharks into a team no one wants to play against. Interesting to think about anyway.

With all the focus on high head shots, maybe marchment can teach em how to throw out the sneeky knee to knee hits under the radar haha I want Ricci as an assistant, but you cant teach his playing style. espicially to a group that have gone their whole careers as powder puffs

He's been behind the bench a few times for Worcester the last couple of years and by all reports he did really well. Marchment was asked earlier this year about his desires to get into coaching by the Worcester beat writer but he said he's not interested in spending that much time away from his family.
