Game Thread: Nebrasketball @ Michigan

We are less than 48 hours away from game time so it's time to start paying attention to this matchup.

Joe Lunardi released some early bracketology today and he has Indiana in his first 4 out. Indiana is #67 in the RPI and Nebraska is #70.

If Nebraska could somehow pull off a win at Ann Arbor, it will put the Huskers right dead smack on the map. That is a damned guarantee.

Yea I saw 68th early on ESPN, but the realtime RPI site moved us to 70th this evening.

With all of that said and sech.......

If Nebraska could seriously pick this one up on the road against Michigan we would likely move up to around 60th the very next day.

This is the kind of win that everyone is waiting to see if Nebraska can get. We gotta prove we can do it. The guys need to go in here with revenge on their minds and a chip on their shoulders. At no point should they feel inferior to a team that was lucky to beat them just a few weeks ago.

Will be tough to win at Michigan, especially with Michigan coming off a loss to Indiana. But I'll be pulling for you Red bros.

Ken Pomeroy, the smartest mother fo in the entire world when it comes to College Basketball, says Michigan wins by 12 points.

Ken also shows every statistic you can imagine for both teams in a matchup so that you can see where strengths and weaknesses are.

Nebraska spreads the ball around well. We score 49% from 2 point range, 27% of our points from behind the arc, and 24% or our points from the Free Throw line.

Michigan scores 58% of their points from 2 point range, 26% of their points from behind the arc, and 16% from the Free Throw line.

Both teams are pretty much dead even on Turnovers, though Nebraska's turnover machine (Biggs) will not be playing this time.

Based on all of this, I believe Nebraska needs to play much like they did against Indiana. Close the lane, and force outside shots. If they bank a couple in then so be it.....their bread and butter is getting inside.

We have more effective height than Michigan does according to Ken Pomeroy.

Husker needs to play good Defense inside, rebound on Defense, and then just play ball at the other end. Defense will win this game.

I believe we have a serious shot with the way this team has been playing Defense as of late.

In the 2nd half of the Indiana game our Defense was good enough to beat anyone. Gotta carry that over into Ann Arbor.

Glad we got a week to prepare for it.

We have too many prolonged periods of bad judgement to win in Ann Arbor. If we turn it over 10 or more times in the 1st half again, it will get ugly in a hurry. Like, Creighton ugly.

Probably need 10+ 3pt fgs and 10 or fewer turnovers. And, for the love of fucking god, start making free throws. And that is just to make it a game.

There won't be a home crowd to help them back from a 16 pt defecit a la Indiana

There will be no ripping my heart out in this game. I expect the worst from these young guys who are just now learning how to finish off a team in the PBA.
Keeping it within 10 would be a positive for further growth.

I agree Biggs was a turnover machine, but he didn't play against Indiana and NU had 10 turnovers in the 1st half.
