Some walk on dude that played 4th level high school ball in Nebraska. just last year.

Our dipshit fans were already clamoring for the kid before the 1st snap today.
Martinez looked horrible though. I mean your team can’t win with a QB playing like that and making terrible decisions and if you can’t win I’d at least let the next man up prove he can’t win.

why the fuck can’t Nebraska recruit any better than that anyway

it’s a legacy and a program that commands respect

it doesn’t make sense to be this bad

Our recruiting rankings have been better than everybody in our conference other than Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State on a year in and year out basis. We are basically on an even keel with Penn State recruiting.

It obviously isn't recruiting. And that goes back to our Big 12 days when only Texas and Oklahoma were the only ones out-recruiting our program.

Even in our heydays with Osborne, we didn't really recruit all that well. Maybe Top 15ish to Top 20. But we did land studs at QB of the likes of Turner Gill, Steve Taylor, and Tommie Frazier along with dudes like Mike Rozier, Irving Fryar, Lawrence Phillips and others. On defense we always got the dudes that were dudes within our 500 mile footprint like Grant Wistrom, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Mike Rucker and many others. Our Jersey and Cali pipelines were strong, and we recruited nationally as well as anybody.

Those days are obviously long gone, and we are getting 3rd level talent and can't coach them a lick.

It actually makes total sense why Nebraska is not elite anymore
1. Tom Osbourne gone
2.Poor coaching hires
3. Lost their recruiting ties to Texas and the South
4. State doesn't produce good to elite high school talent
5.Move to the Big 10
6.Hard to recruit to Lincoln

This just isn't true and is a bit delusional to say the least. Nebraska is nowhere close to the 3 teams mentioned in recruiting the last 4 seasons overall. 4 seasons because that generally makes up current teams rosters. We can just exclude tOSU from this.

Nebraska in 2018 finished 23rd in recruiting but only signed 6 4* players.
Penn St signed 3 5* players and 12 4* Players.
Michigan signed 7 4 Star players

2019
Nebraska signed 7 4 star players
Penn State signed 1 5* and 17 4* players
Michigan signed 2 5* and 14 4* players

2020

Nebraska signed 10 4*
Penn State signed 11
Michigan signed 14

2021
Nebraska signed 4
Penn State signed 6
Michigan signed 1 5* and 11 4*

Over 4 years of recruiting which also coincides with Frost as the Huskers Coach

Nebraska signed a total 28 4 star players.
Penn State signed a total of 4 5* players and 46 4* players
Michigan signed 3 5* players 53 4* players

On a roster that gets cut to 85 players Nebraska only has 28 "Blue Chippers" available in that span. Penn State 50. Michigan 56. Nebraska is way behind in recruiting to the other 3 programs in the BIG. They are closer to the pack behind those 3 than those 3 and with subpar coaching so far the teams behind them in recruiting with better coaching is outperforming them.

I told Nebraska fans even before hiring Frost, the days of competing nationally for them are done. The move to the B1G helped them financially, but for football, it did absolutely nothing for them. They now have no national rival, they will play almost all their games in the Midwest and they are at the bottom for academics in the B1G. With next to no instate talent and next to no talent in surrounding states - they must now convince recruits from the southwest and west coast to come to Nebraska to play games in the Midwest.

It sucks for Nebraska fans as they have some of the nicest and most diehard fans in CFB.
