The main five guys in the lineup are now hitting ove .250. Kingery and Williams have work to do but they should get there. Santana should hit more but his 60 hits plus 60 walks put him on pace to score 100 runs. Altherr should go down to get his stroke figured out, then Cozens could get into some games. All in all, not too shabby an offense.

Maybe JP was moved through the farm levels too quickly. It seems as he advanced from A to AA to AAA, then to the majors, his average declined each time for the most part. Only 23, he still has time to develop offensively but Phils may not wait and he may be gone if rumored trades occur.

Nats have at least 3 key starters on the DL. Not counting Strasberg. They will continue to falter. Phillies will take advantage

Pivetta (4-6, 4.05) vs Fedde (0-3, 5.32) tonight. Nola and Phils beat Fedde last week 5-3.

Pivetta’s ERA ballooned to 5.81 in June after a 2.79 April and 3.24 May. In fact, Phils won 8 of his first 11 starts thanks to late inning scoring. He needs to show up strong tonight.

Phils 6-4 as Franco hits one out.
