Nice to see base hits strung together for once. Home runs are great, but extended innings that add multiple runs do a lot to wear the other team down. Used a lot of the pen, so that should bode well for the rest of the series as well.

France is getting right and fast. Hitting that outside fast ball out to dead center was a great sign. Then he can expand outside and shoot balls into RF as we're accustomed to seeing.

The last piece is still Julio. He's watching some good pitches and not making great contact on others. Shouldn't last long though, he's too good at making hard contact.

Yes he has watched quite a few 1st pitch fastballs for strikes ( with no swing ) the past 2-3 weeks.

Julio is trying too hard to hit the ball out of the park on each and every swing. I am positive he can evolve into a yearly .300 hitter who still hits 23-29 HRs a season with some off season work to limit the BIG HR swings to when he has a hitters count only.

I do not want to jinx the kid.... BUT I guarantee you the hand / wrist injury by swinging at a pitch up and in from a few weeks ago will NOT be his last.
it has nearly happened a couple times since then, but the ball just barely missed hitting him in the hand / wrist area.

He generates such a tremendous amount of coiled energy load into his swing that he simply cannot stop it on a pitch that comes up and in on him. His entire arm - wrist hands are exposed to being hit. it will happen a few times a season and sooner or later a bone will get broken that keeps him out for 6-10 weeks vs 7-10 days like the 1st incident.

Well Jen asked France last night what has changed and he said he's swinging at good pitches and laying off bad ones. Yes, that's the hard hitting journalism she's known for lol.

It's good to see him stop pressing and make good contact again.

Need to see the team continue what we saw last night when they leave Detroit and go back to top level pitching. They are capable of doing it. Hopefully they continue the next two games and carry it through to Cleveland.

M's post season play?????.....having issues with the 4th to last place team in the majors? And Aaron, this was NOT another good start for Gonzo. OMG-Tigers are one of the worse MLB teams Aaron, but just keep reading your stats from wherever you're getting them.

Geno. What can you say? Another monster HR and more crazy good play in the field.

He's hitting .231 and leads all of the majors in strikeouts. Also 10th in walks and 31st in WAR at 3.7. Just a weird mix of stats.

Still, he's been pretty clutch.
