Well, it looks like the last 10 games are against iffy teams. To stay in the Wild Card playoffs, the M's must win 6 of the 10 games if my math is accurate. As far as Scott goes, I am sick and tired of "excuses" he makes. Partic;ularly when he says the guys are tired and pretty spent as the season nears the end. Hey Scott, tell the Astros, Yankees or Cleveland that. Their guys aren't tired too?
I have bitched constanly about Servais since day one but to his credit. After 7 yrs of "on the job training" I think he has made a couple good decisions this season but is still miles away from being a "Lou" type manager or even a winning manager. He just doesn't have the personality and/or skills set to make things happen. JMO
The M's "magic" number is 6. That is a combo of M's wins + Orioles losses. So they would only have to win 6 if you believe the birds are not going to lose another game the rest of the way. Very unlikely.
Even if Baltimore went 7 - 3 down the stretch, the M's would only need to go 3 - 7 to secure a spot.
