I like it when goldsmith is quiet for almost an entire half inning, because the guy NEVER SHUTS UP. Has a team ever traded an announcer before?

Looking at the Gilbert vs Johnson comparison for best ERA's after 5 games, Gilbert amazes me on beating that record. Give the guy 100% credit for figuring it out.

The one thing that makes me laugh about todays game is Gilbert pulled at 102 pitches which is now common while Johnson had back-to-back 140 pitch games and in game #16 threw 160 pitches.

How ESPN swapped Al Michaels for a cartoon rabbit

"My next phone call was to my counterpart at NBC, Dick Ebersol. I opened the conversation by saying, "I'm willing to talk to you about letting Al go to NBC, but I gotta have Oswald the Lucky Rabbit back."

"It turns out that Oswald was a precursor to Mickey Mouse, designed personally by Walt Disney for Universal Pictures back in the 1920s -- and Bob Iger knew it was important to the Disney family. Within a week, Ebersol had run the traps at NBC's sister company, Universal, received approval, and the deal was worked out."

So if your former top prospect has to have Dylan Moore pinch hit for you late in games, maybe it is time to go back down.

Bryan Reynolds for Pitt is batting .194 so far this season. Maybe a good time to revisit a trade for him.

Best parts about this game, Jrod not only had that rocket, but a 3 hit day to move his average into a place he can settle down with, and as impressive as Gilbert's ERA is, he solidly broke a losing streak. That is one of the most important things you can ask of your key starters.

100%, but was expecting that to be Ray. Nice to have someone else step in.

An early comparison of free agent outfielders to what we went with after the first month.

I told the person I am watching the game with that I hope a 5 run lead is big enough for Festa. I wasn't kidding.

Back in around 2008 when Dave Sims was given the play-by-play duties for the Mariners, I absolutely hated him.

After having to be subjected to Goldsmith, I absolutely love Sims.

I'll stop here because I can go on and on about how much I dislike Goldsmith as an announcer and as a person. The guy is just a prick.

I'm not concerned about Winker. His righty/lefty splits bother me, but even then he's still a good hitter.

Kelenic is my biggest concern at this point. We should've traded him when we had the chance. I was hopeful he might improve this year, but here are his numbers this year compared to last:

2021: .181/.265/.350, 9.5% BB, 28.1% K rate
2022: .148/.221/.311, 8.8% BB, 39.7% K rate

Those stats listed above don't even account for his latest 0-3 with 2 strikeouts.

I'll give it a few more weeks but I'm now fully on the Kelenic is a bust train.

normal..i would agree and i may...later....but they have to....stop..him from doing what he is doing...and do it a bit..differant...in a good way....first...they have to know...what they want to try......then..sell kelenic ..on it...
