Denorfia hasn't had great stats since coming over, but I still like the guy on the team. Good OF with a plus arm and seems to get the bat on the ball when needed. Wouldn't mind him back next year.

Yeah, I didn't like that idea by Taylor. They said the Sox catcher works a lot with the Molinas and you can tell

I had the issue as well but they got it fixed. It may have been Root's problem.

Rondey just doesn't have it. And after this he won't be available for a couple of games.

When you lean on your bullpen that much in a game it's huge to get the win. There's some tired arms in the locker room right now.

First ever sweep at Fenway! Strange the way the series played out, but it's a little reassuring to see this team not pitch well but overcome 3 difficult games with the bats.

We'll be 5 games back of the top Wild Card spot after tonight. I would absolutely love to see a 1 game playoff with Felix pitching at home!

Great road trip! Couple of bad breaks in Philly otherwise it would've been an amazing road trip!

The M's now come home with 71 wins...... Matching their overall output from last season.

So posting 8 runs means you're "leaning on the bullpen"?

When your starter only lasts into the 3rd inning and you have to use your pen the rest of the way, you're leaning on your bullpen. Iwakuma is normally a guy you can count on to go six or seven innings, but today he just didn't have it, so the M's had to rely on their bullpen to keep them in the game while the offense went to work on getting the lead back, and then they had to hold that lead. Also of note is that the M's only had 3 runs and were behind when the bullpen came in.

I see the point now, but they had no other options, you can't just put a SP out there. Iwakuma may have had what Cano and Morrison are having, otherwise he would have played better and stayed longer I think. I don't think it's right to say "leaning on the bullpen, it was just this roadtrip that we've had to rely on the bullpen.

Just my opinion, however.

Damn do the Bosox suck!
I can only hope they're playing so badly in hopes of a good draft pick...

Well, it's actually kind of cool to see the Mariners in the playoff chase...hope they keep doing well.

Well the M's pitchers do have a few things going for them in this Texas series. The most obvious one is that they get to pitch at Safeco Field, where they have the best home ERA in the American League. One of the less obvious advantages they'll have is that they'll be going from pitching to the lineup that has been the most patient/stubborn lineup in the majors to a lineup that is about league average in pitches per plate appearance. Texas also has the 4th lowest percentage of pitches fouled off in the majors and they are middle of the road in terms of 2-0 counts and 3-0 counts. Even if our guys give up base hits, the Rangers are one of the worst teams in the league in terms of avoiding the double play. They've hit into a ton of them this year. All of this means that our starters should be able to work deeper into the games in this series and give our bullpen a bit of a rest. I'm not saying they will, but they should.

No, going 7+ innings with 120+ pitches in one game is leaning on the bullpen.
