John Candy, Bill Murray and Steve Martin can do no wrong with me (you could probably throw Dan Aykroyd in the mix too). Not a real big fan of Chevy Chase though.
I liked Fletch, Spies Like Us and Funny Farm

Think it was him and Harold Ramis (who also wrote Stripes with Bill Murray I think).

I always forget how awesome he is too.
Out of curiosity I checked out Ramis's IMDB page. He wrote (or helped write) the following movies...
Animal House, Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Back to School, Armed and Dangerous (another Candy classic), Ghostbusters II, Groundhog Day, Analyze This (& That), among others. Never knew Egon Spengler was so prolific.
I knew he was involved in Caddyshack and GroundHog Day, didn't know he was in all of those. Not sure, but did he fill in as Egon? I remember some interview, maybe Im wrong... IDK. GroundHog Day comes to mind whenever I hear Ned Ryerson doin voice overs.
I know I know, but that one character was so funny. He was such an asshole.
Despite being a freak, he's a pretty good actor.
