Kidding aside, Pitts is one of the jewel talents of this draft. What if he’s there at 9 and there are no trade downs available. How do you skin that as a GM? Do you draft him and financial secure the position for another 5 years? Try to find a deal for Fant? I think if you’re told that Kyle Pitts is on your team, though, throwing your TV may be a bit laughable. While I like Fant, I’m not sure he‘s in Waller and Kelce’s class and that is our division.

At the end of the day, it’s just a mock. The rest of that one may make you buy a new TV.
Duffman would throw me out the window :). I'd take Pitts in a heartbeat at 9. I know it doesn't fill a need but, he's a talent red zone nightmare with Fant Sutton Jeudy Gordon.

I agree, if you have a chance to draft generational talent you do it regardless

Go back in time to 2006 and pull up draft articles about Vernon Davis. 4.39 40 at 255 lbs. Generational talent at the TE position. Average NFL career.
Would rather trade down if someone else wants Pitts.

Albert O is our current RZ target and was performing very well before his injury.

This is why I like draft season:
Mingo will be heartbroken if we select a QB in round 1. Our reigning POTM (who shall go unnamed) will be pissed if we pass on one of his two favorites.

LGM will be irate if we draft a potential HOF TE, NFLB will be upset if we pass on that same player.

Most everyone will be thrilled if Sewell drops to 9 and we select him. (I say fat chance of that) But CEH will point out that he won’t start his rookie year.

Of Course any DB that is selected will be DC’s favorite pick.

Everyone has opinions, but George Paton is the one whose future is on the line. Somehow I feel more confident in his judgment, even without knowing him well, than I did with Elway-led moves.

Vernon Davis. 4.39 40 at 255 lbs. Generational talent at the TE position. Average NFL career.

Had 2 seasons over 900 yards, another season over 800 yards, is 11th all time in receiving yards for a TE and 6th all time in touchdowns. That is far from average. He made 2 Super Bowls and won one with some pretty cool team called the Denver Broncos. As far as how impactful a TE can be, Davis was by far one of the best and easily worth the 6th overall pick San Francisco used on him.

I love Paton he keeps things quiet and being a former scout that has me pumped we will draft very well. Add picks and move around I'm hoping he gets us better returns in trades. I thought Elway was too open and lost on trade returns.
