It's obvious Dwight Howard isn't going to resign with the Lakers this offseason. I had my doubts way before the season ended he wouldn't as well. So I ask, why didn't Mitch pull the string and trade this guy? We could have gotten a ton load of talent to fit Mikey D's style of offense. Now, we will be in 100 per cent rebuilding mode and it's going to take a couple of years to get back into contention. I just am not understanding why we kept this guy when we had absolutely NO chance of winning an NBA title this season. Thoughts?

.....I will add something to the other side of my comments. Why didn't Mitch Kupchak hire Phil Jackson as head coach? PJ's triangle offense is a lot better suited for the players we had on our roster. I am just not understanding the Lakers front office's thinking or decisions. The result either way is we could be screwed for a couple of years!

What makes you think that it is obvious D12 is not going to resign with the Lakers? I get more of a sense that he will resign.

Well whatever D12 does, I think Mitch should be focusing on freeing up enough cash to lure CP3 into a Lakers uniform as well.

I mean really. If D12 walks, signing CP3 could have some serious results for us. CP3 is playing with Deandre Jordon at center and they are doing fine. They get an early exit do the Griffin injury but CP3 had a helluva year and he would solve aot of our backcourt weaknesses. Granted Jordon is young and pretty good at this point in his career. We could eaily insert Sacre and Pau hangs around, that is not a bad frontcourt either.

Say Jamison, Meeks, Metta all walk and we amnesty Steve Blake. Would that leave pretty good room for us to reshape the rest of the roster a bit?

Also, in terms of roleplayers, Mitch doesn't have a great history. Earl Clark and Jordan Hill basically fell in his lap. Ron Artest took a pay cut to play for us, if I remember correctly.

Kupchak is really good, but Jerry West is great.

Who would trade for a free agent??? He could bolt from any team that would have taken him.

No. Just signing D12 is 118 million $ with and added 86 million $ Luxury tax. Then 35 mil $ to Kobe, 19 mil $ to Pau...

Not arguing one way or the other, but I'm just pointing out that doesn't mean much of anything. Lots of players and coaches live in the LA area despite not being a Laker or Clipper

I think it means that D'Antonio knows that Lil' Buss is committed to him.

You don't have to go buy a house.

You buy a house when the Big Boss lets you know... that, Hey; you should go buy a house.

Yes, all bosses around the world tell their employees when to buy a house.

WT, Outlaw, and others. You are wasting your time with a certain poster on this thread. Nothing of value is to be gained trying to reason with him. The ignore function is quite useful in this case. You all are encouraged to go there.

No. I wasn't talking about "all bosses around the world," I was talking about this specific situation.

Are you kind of silly?

Strange that you want to fight so much.

Thanks for the warm welcome , Friend.

Not all fans agree on everything. It's kind of silly and hateful that you need to turn on somebody like that. Cruel. Mean. Whatever.

Maybe in your old age you need to learn to be a little more flexible? A little more tolerant of dissent. Less stubborn. Less obstinate. Not everybody is gonna Hate like you.

Some people have come to accept that Jimmy Buss will not be surrendering his team to Jeannie- no matter how many times that you type it. She won't be toppling him. He won't be bringing in Phil.

Put away such childish notions.

That's the way it is. That's the reality.

Look on the bright side. Stop being so negative.

Stop trying to control everything, and everybody, Old Man.

Chill.

Accept dissent.

Don't hate.
