Bill Bergen for HoF!
We are now entering into the 4th season of the Mike Leach era, and it has been underwhelming thus far. He took over for Wulff in 2012, and he alienated a lot of fans with how the 2012 season went down. His 3-9 record was a step back for a team that many fans felt should have competed for a bowl (nothing special, but 6-6 to 8-4 was the general thought at the time). He did lead the Cougs to their first bowl in a decade in 2013 (a typically heartbreaking loss) before the team took a step back in 2014.
Like everywhere else he's been, offense doesn't seem to be the problem, but the defense is just horrible (38.5 opts/game is worst since Paul Wulff's second season). The Cougs have a string of bad defensive years, they haven't allowed fewer than 30 points a game in a season since 2006. Don't expect miracles on defense, so the offense is gonna have to make up the slack.
So, the question is, with a record of 12-25, what does Leach have to do to stay as the head football coach in Pullman? Would the college fire him if they have another losing record?
