The Sox have a backup outfielder logjam and need to trade Mike Carp. (this is pure speculation.)

In 86 games in Boston last season (the most in his short career), he put up .885 OPS - good for a 140 OPS+. He is only 28 and is getting paid $1.4m.

Any teams still looking for a solid backup/platoon 1B/OF/DH?

Pirates and Brewers.

I dont think either would assume they were getting a .885ops player though.

Primarily becasue they have Nava, Gomes, Bradley, Sizemore, & Victorino in the OF. Napoli, Pedroia, Boegarts, Middlebrooks, & Herrera in the IF. And Ortiz.

He is just the odd man out...

And, this was purely specualtion on my part. I doubt they trade him . They'll start the year with either Bradley at AAA or Sizemore on the DL....
