Michigan backs out on UCLA

I looked at Auburn's schedule and I don't think we can take the SOS hit by dropping Western Ky and picking up Michigan.

Canceled the games for 2022 and 2023 because they would only have six home games in 2023. Replaced it with home games against ECU and Hawaii.

As of now they have no P5 OOC opponents either year.

Michigan usually doesn't duck good teams ... we don't win them, but we don't duck 'em either.

UCLA isn't that damn good either.

Solid trade-off for Michigan. I bet Alabama wishes they could dump Arkansas for Notre Dame!

Just had a terrible thought with UCLA playing Arkansas this year! Two historically good programs having awful seasons.

How far back do we have to go for UCLA to be a good program? I think at least 40 years.

that's disappointing even if UCLA's pretty awful right now. always cool to play in the Rose Bowl even if it isn't the actual bowl game, not to mention Michigan and UCLA have some history.

yeah. they had a bit of a resurgence in the first few Mora years, but other than that this millenium has not been kind to UCLA fans.

They have beaten us so regularly, lately losing to them isn't news, but beating them is huge news. Again, Michigan doesn't back down.

I know, and you are right. I haven't heard we are going back to Notre Dame in those years, it's just someone speculation. I rather have Notre Dame on my Resume than UCLA ... just saying.

oh absolutely. no matter how deflating it gets, I still want to get an opportunity every year to knock them off. I don't want us to stop playing MSU, ND or even Minnesota (pretty disappointing we no longer play annually)
