Starting the game thread early to start a little rant

Prior to the game vs the Bills the Fins were talking about moving the pocket for Tannehill and getting him on the run given the Oline struggles - I wanted to say this during the game, but there was so much else to bitch about that I held back... Here are my thoughts on this topic: The team has been getting him out of the pocket a lot and on the run a lot - if you look back at every game so far, he has done that in games quite a bit each week -- The thing is, more times than not those plays have lead to incompletetions, more sacks, which lead to tougher downs and distances or even turnovers. So, while getting Tannehill on the move will help him and our offense as a whole, coaches need to do a better job of deciding when they do this to avoid putting him in tough positions.

I am not one to ever blame coaches in any sport, I always say it comes down to execution no matter what. But, if the coaching is crap from the start, the execution will be as well.

We have some winable games coming up to get back in the playoff mix, but it has to start this week.

Also, today it was announced the Fins will be playing in London next season. They will do so and be considered a road team, so no home game taken away in this case.

I'll make this game plan simpler for you. You do realize Wilfork and Mayo are done for the season ... right??? Did you see what the Jets did to the Pats last week ... they ran the fucking ball right up the Pats' throats. To hell with moving Tannehill around and all of that gobbledy-gook ... RUN THE FREAKIN FOOTBALL until they can stop it ... simple as that.

Establish the run, rely on Brady to beat himself, win the game.

They need to establish the run early and also stay committed to it which has been a problem the last few games... They are just not staying committed to it.

Calling The Patriots "The Cheatriots"? That's what my (Jet fan) friend's little sister calls them too. Congrats.

Keys to the game: Protect the QB
Run the ball early and often and stay committed to it no matter what. Run the ball apporpriately with each guy. Thomas is better between the tackles, Miller is better on the perimeter... If they do it this way, the running game will be successful - if they do it otherwise, the running game will struggle. Write it down.

Dont fall in love with getting Tannehill on the move so much. This has not had the result the Fins have wanted. What usually has happend when he does this is, he gets sacked we get into tougher down and distances, turnovers - or as I have seen too much of, he rolls out so much and so far that when he does throw, he has nowhere to throw but out of bounds. I am not saying not to move him around, but do a better job at deciding when to do so. Don't fall in love with the idea.

Play calling has to be better in third down situations in order to help the execution to have a chance. I understand that being predictable, especially a quality team is not the popular choice... But, we have seen it too much already this season with the Fins on third down - they try to get cute and fail. I know our conversion percentage is not that bad, but it could be better if we just went with common sense calls in those situations and better execution.

Defensively, we have to bring the pressure early and often but have the discipline to stay on our guys to make sure we let no one by or miss any tackles. When we have our hands on brady's bitch ass, we need to sack his ass and tear him up.

We need to try to create turnovers but be discipline in that regard as well so we dont give up big plays in those situations.

On special teams, how well we move the ball will help field position. Sturgis will need to get back on track or we can start missing Carpenter, though I have been missing him since he left. I knew we would need him a few times this season.

Cheatriots win the toss but differ... We must score a TD in our first drive.

I said establishing the run is key but when you are deep on your own end, it does not help. So much for getting a TD on your first drive.

My heart stopped while watching Tannehill on the move but he executed and Gibson did what he does.
