Pretty simple.
  1. No IR's
  2. 1 IR
  3. 2 IR's
Both options 2 and 3 would operate under the stipulation that a player is only eligible for an IR spot if he is in the real life IR or PUP list. If the real team activates said player at anytime, he must be activated in our league as well, the IR cannot be used like your garage, to store stuff that might be useful someday.

I voted for 1 to hopefully ensure we get one but I wouldnt be unhappy with two and hope that I never have to use them!

Long run, that's much simpler. Especially for Treff and obx

To be honest, that wouldn't change anything. People would use the one more spot, and then when someone is injured, there's still 18 guys they won't wanna drop to fill the injured slot...at best is kicking the issue down the road

To add on to this. IMO when you sign on as Commish, you are signing on to do the work and sometimes the work isn't the easiest choice. In something's we need to make it easier on the commishs, but I don't think this is one of those.

I don't mind the tiny little bit of extra work this one might bring. "Hey, so and so got activated, make sure you get your roster legal before gametime"..not to concerned. Helluvalot easier than mediating a bitch fest as to why someone left inactives in the lineup with the rationalization being, "well I had injury problems, if we had an IR, it would've been different..."

Sounds like we need to have one and a half spots :) Here is my reasoning for two if it makes any difference to anybody. The reason you don't want rules to change is generally for one of two reasons: #1 people will abuse the rule to their advantage. #2 People will gain a competitive advantage over others if they can use the rule. I don't really see how either of those things can happen in this case if you can only put PUP and IR guys in that slot. The only thing it will do is open up a roster spot so you can have actual real live humans in your starting lineup. It's a 14 team 18 roster spot league. It's not like there's a ton of diamonds in the rough floating around on waivers to pick up and replace your injured guy.

One thing that occurred to me, and maybe I'm off base - but when we draft this year, can a player presently on IR (from the 2016 season) be moved to an IR spot as opposed to the required 'drop and draft' in the past ??

Just wondering how that's going to work. Makes a difference in how you approach things. ...

Great question
I'll tell ya in my league you can keep an IR player however he counts against the roster and can only be placed on IR once the draft has been completed and all picks have been entered and verified
Then once the WW is open you are free to place an IR eligible player on IR and add
