"It's the second time this season that the shoulder has sent him to the DL, though the Reds called it tendinitis the first time around. The club figures to take it slowly with Marshall this time, so he could be looking at an extended absence. Manny Parra (pectoral) has been activated and will take Marshall's spot in the bullpen."

This is not good. Losing Marshall is gonna hurt our bullpen. :exploding:

Parra blows. Yep, he's a lefty, but no one considered Cingrani ? Yep, I know Parra has a MLB contract, due IMO, to Walt ( mistaken) assumption that AC was a starter, Broxton was the closer, and he still needed 2 lefties in the pen. We're making roster decisions now based on Dusty ( and Chapman ) refusing in the last week if spring training to go through with the original plan, and Marshall's inability since spring training, to pitch more than 15 minutes a week. Making that Travis Wood trade not look so great.

Could be Parra has recovered from his propensity to throw strikes that are down the middle of the plate.

Could be.

We can only hope that Parra being sent down to minors, Did wonders and he returns to at the least a reliable 7th inning guy. (In a perfect world)

Parra is a veteran. He's not likely to get much help with his mechanics. I didn't honestly think the guy was hurt in the first place but they needed to get Marshall back in there. Now, it's evident this is more of a joke than a real medical issue.

Part of his problem was he didn't throw enough strikes- he walks a lot of his LOOGY opportunities, and it seems the rest tee off on him. He's a bum, IMO. It's why the Brewers let him walk and signed Mike Gonzalez for half a mil more than Parra got. Sounds like money better spent to me. I'll hope for the best, while a better plan develops.

Another W for the Reds' medical staff, one of the most inept groups of doctors in professional sports.

I 2nd that 03! they make to many mistakes for my liking. When a player is not in the lineup one night , you never know if he's resting or going to be out for the year
