Dunno if anybody watched the Birds-Mets game tonight but if there is such a thing as lucky, Matheny brought a box full of it to the ballpark. I realize the Mets are not all that saucy, but I'm still a bit puzzled and worried (if anybody ought to worry about such stuff) that the Birds just are living in another world again this year. Lynn can't get the ball over the plate for the first 4 innings and still managed to give them a quality start.

While I think the Cards are slightly overachieving with their starting pitching and their RISP hitting, their HR numbers are also abnormally low.

Currently, I see a couple of things ... Carpenter has been reaching base at an incredible pace (not unlike Choo for the first two weeks) and Molina has given the guys ahead of him a chance to get some pitches to hit. Both those guys are very tough outs.
