No, not this guy
but the Phillies outfielder. He kind of got lost in the shuffle. I remember back in 2013 and 2014 when he was 22 and 23, he was tearing the cover off the ball, hitting .295/.346/.444 in 424 PA at A+ and then .342/.408/.495 in 222 PA at AA. I remember being worried about his high BABIP (.330 and .393 at A+ and AA), but was hopeful that he was just a guy who could sustain a high BABIP because he makes so much contact and is fast. After all, Mike Trout has a career BABIP of .360, Goldschmidt has a career BABIP of .356. Hell, since coming into the league in '15, Odubel Herrera is fourth in all of baseball among qualified players with a .366 BABIP.
Sadly, he wasn't able to sustain the high BABIP. In 2015, in 418 PA, he had a BABIP of .264 and only hit .252/.307/.411- which is still above 5% league average at AA with a 105 wRC+. At AAA in 2016 in 433 PA, he was better, with a .325 BABIP and a slash line of .292/.329/.419 for a 114 wRC+.
So, what to do with him? I only posted this thread because I was a big fan of his back in 2014, and he homered yesterday. He's 26 and still hasn't logged a PA in the majors. I doubt he'll turn into something great, but a corner OF who has the potential to put up a 115 wRC+ is valuable. But with Saunders and Odubel assumedly filling two outfield spots while healthy, and Williams, Cozens, Quinn, and Altherr knocking on the door, I don't see Killa Cam getting much of a shot. Maybe they can bundle him with Mickey Moniak when we trade for Trout in July
