Wish there were a picture so I could see. If this kid is finally getting serious, he could really help the team.

He moved into Panda Sandoval's house and could barely get anything to eat before it was inhaled by Pablo.

On twitter, you have to go to the full URL for the individual tweet. It usually ends in a bunch of numbers.

Just copy and paste that URL right into the SportsHoopla message window.

Pretty amazing. Hopefully, this is a sign that he's ready to take his career seriously.

I'm liking what I'm seeing, but I want to see it translated into some actual production before I get too excited. Remember CC Sabathia lost a whole bunch of weight last year too and came out the gate struggling and ultimately got hurt.

Thankfully, Monteo is slightly younger, and playing a little 1B and hitting aren't as taxing on the body as pitching.
Lack of flexibility is the cause of most injuries, and it's harder for older guys to maintain that even if they're exercising and losing a ton of fat like CC did. At 25, let's just hope that Montero incorporated a lot of flexibility work into his weight loss routing.

Just looking at him, it looks like Montero has done a full body recomp with a good combo of cardio and resistance work. CC looked like he just hadn't eaten in a couple of months. Unhealthy looking. His injury also didn't just come out of nowhere. He and doctors said it was wear and tear, which shouldn't be an issue for Montero.

Please baby Jesus, don't get hurt. We want to like you very much, and see you hit curveball.

Logicallylethal.... sites not letting me quote right now... but im replying to your post about CC.

The difference is CC was effective, if not down right dominant fat. Jesus has never been anything other then a disapointment as a fatty. So Skinny Jesus has nowhere to go but up.

One last point about CC. His Skinny year where he got hurt and wasn't good. Was after years and years of being a horse. So some could say he was due to regress, "Get old" at some point, dropping the El Bees didn't necessarily have anything to do with it.

Montero speaks:

There's some video of him taking some balls at 1B, and also some BP.

Looks like an athlete again.

“He likes to give credit to a lot of people, but I tell you what he deserves that,” Clifford said. “I’m proud of him. This is my 23rd year in organization and doing this 16 or 17 years throughout it, he dedicated himself this offseason as much as I’ve ever seen anybody. It’s been rewarding for me just to watch this guy do this.”

Huge props to him. I know he gets paid to be in shape, but that doesn't minimize what it takes to lose 40 lbs in an off season. If he can have better mobility, I would love to see him play 1B this year for us. I don't think his batting eye ever left him it was just hampered by his weight. I posted on here last year that he was reaching for a lot of pitches and that is a weight issue. You can't turn on a ball when you are that big so you become a hands hitter.

I am rooting for the guy.
