Since the Wild picked up Suter and Parise and I haven't seen the results I was looking for. The on the ice product hasn't improved enough to get them any wins yet. I must say I'm a tad disappointed thus far.

I think Fletcher is counting on some of the young guys to step up and make an impact (Coyle, Granlund, etc.). Besides, Leipold is to be tapped out after acquiring Parise and Suter.

It will take a while for the chemistry to kick in. Freezing water to ice takes time my friend. Esp with the compressors turned off.

They haven't even scored a GOAL yet. 190 million down the drain if this type of production continues. Though admittedly part of the reason is that they just aren't getting anywhere NEAR enough ice time.

Pffft.... Good luck moving THOSE contracts

Wait for the new CBA - the Burkie provision will allow cash considerations to be traded as well...

The good news: the Flyers can now use their wealth to push around other teams even more.

The bad news: the Rangers have more wealth than the Flyers.

I blame crooked referees and on ice thuggery.

There there, TN. I know you've spent the better half of this year wallowing and crying into your blankie that your demi-god Timmy the Freak has shit the bed (although you claim 95% of his struggles are from ump jacking - just check the fangraphs strike charts), but in case you just looked at the roster, Heatley and Setoguchi are no longer on the Sharks. And the powerplay for and against are dead even. But you're spot on about the thuggery and goonery.

yes the powerhouses of the league get to where they are by dollars and cents.

the lower rung of the league are usely due to lack of "sense".

I only read the thread title, but esls, if you're that late, you're probably pregnant.

Congrats? Sorry? ;)

Brent Burns is a ref spy sent by Minnesota to continue the cycle of ref goonery.

Hey, we all know that the Flyers offering Weber that contract wasn't because they thought he'd donate all of that first year money to victims of unprovoked face-slamming. It's because they hoped Nashville wouldn't be able to match the frontloaded contract. I'm not saying you have to spend to the cap to win, but it can help.

That said, I agree that there are plenty of teams who have more money than brains.
