Holy Shit...What a slate of games starting at noon, eastern!

ABC - Oklahoma @ Texas
WPCH - South Carolina @ Arkansas
ESPN - Missouri @ Georgia
ESPN2 - Indiana @ Michigan State
ESPNU - Pittsburgh @ Virginia Tech
FS1 - Iowa State @ Texas Tech
SPSO - Kansas @ Texas Christian
BTN - Nebraska @ Purdue
ETC+ - another 5 or 6 games on other channels

Do the right thing.
Watch, or tune in to the only game that matters: The surprising, exciting 1-0/3-2 Indiana Hoosiers visit the 1-0/4-1 offensively-challenged, defensively-superb Michigan State Spartans.

line is -10 MSU...ou is 53
I say: IU-32 MSU-37

Saturday's Old Brass Spittoon game between Indiana and Michigan State will be the 500th game played at Spartan Stadium.

Will the Spartan defense be able to shut down the high powered Hoosier offense?

I believe the Spartans will win, but not by 10 (current Vegas line)

all these games at noon?
sucks for tailgating.
must be an effort on to keep the fighting drunks numbers down? (heard that was why the Wusserines at Michigan don't have more night games)

Whew, that turnover was prime, it felt like the game was getting away. 14 all.

re: games that start at noon...bad for tailgating...good for 'fewer fighting drunks' and, credit wifey for this supposition:

"maybe early games are good for the local economy...all those sober, hungry people have to eat...they'll probably hit the bars & restaurants after the game."

Gah good game. A good defense/mediocre offense almost always beats a good offense/bad D, but I was hoping we could pull it out. We'll see you on the bball court. :suds:

Well, looking at the pretty good performances by both Michigan State and Nebraska today...combined with the crappy performances by both Michigan and Northwestern today........

.........it's not going too far out on a limb to say that Michigan State and Nebraska look to be the two favorites (at this point) to win the Legends Division.

Take your pick

Northwestern is the best of the Legends in my opinion. I would love to see Michigan State play both Wisconsin and Ohio State. Nebraska did it the last two years.

Michigan State is really playing well, their defense can win games. And they are finding an offense by playing power houses Iowa and Indiana.(sarcasm) BTW, guess who Michigan State plays the next two games? Illinois and Purdue. If the Nebraska defense stopped those two teams, it is quite possible that Michigan State has two blowout shutouts. Michigan State gets lucky and plays the bottom five teams of the B1G. Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. Michigan State's SOS has to be bad, really really bad.

Michigan lays an egg against Penn State. If you can get into Gardner's head, he becomes completely discombobulated. Plus, the final five minutes of the Penn State/Michigan game both defenses went into prevent victory mode.

Nebraska. Talk about playing powerhouses(sarcasm again). Nebraska played the bottom in Purdue. Nebraska did not look good in that game. It is just that Purdue is that bad, really, really bad. Purdue's O line has to be the worst in the country, and their running game has to be the worst in the country. Purdue's punter shanked a punt in the first half and Nebraska got ZERO points off of it. That was with the wind behind Nebraska. Purdue averages 77.8 rushing yards per game and has scored ZERO(zero as in NONE) rushing TDs. Illinois is in the bottom tier, but I think Minnesota is the 11th best team in the B1G.

Michigan State is really playing well.³

¹ Everybody has their opinion...although how anybody thinks a team that can't score shizzle in a 6-35 blowout in Madison is the best of the division is beyond me. I think NEB is the best of the Legends (and would love to see my opinion proven wrong on 16NOV in Lincoln.)

² I'd love to see MSU play both WIS & OSU again this year too (ditto your Huskers, who play neither, either.) BTW, sport, MSU also played both teams in 2011 and 2012; and had better results than NEB did.

2011
WIS @ MSU...31-37
NEB @ WIS...17-48
MSU @ OSU...10-7
OSU @ NEB...27-34
MSU vs WIS...39-42 (1st B1GCG...one of the best CG games in NCAA history)

2012
OSU @ MSU...17-16
NEB @ OSU...38-63
MSU @ WIS...16-13
WIS @ NEB...27-30
NEB vs WIS...31-70 (2nd B1GCG...one of the worst CG blowouts in NCAA history)

³ yes, they are. See? We can agree on something.

The Michigan State Nebraska matchup might not matter.

Nebraska will probably turn Kain Colter and Devin Gardner into Heisman candidates before Michigan State rolls into Lincoln. Michigan State will just be getting Sloppy Thirds while the Michigan State defense has its way with turnover Taylor Martinez, high throwing Tommy Armstrong, and slow moving Ron Kellogg.

Nebraska might get over 100 yards rushing against Michigan State though.

The Michigan State Nebraska matchup might not matter.

To the contrary, my friend...I think it will be the defining game of the B1G season for both teams.

Some Husker fans might still resent their move from the B12 and may be more pessimistic about their current squad/coach as regards national aspirations...I can't speak to either...that's yall's cross to bear and to live with...BUT
Both teams have, imo, an equal chance of going 8-0 and playing in the B1GCG against (no doubt) OSU. Both teams have a great chance of finishing the year in a respectable Bowl Game (even if such isn't a BCS event.)

MSU has PUR, @ILL, MICH, @NEB, @NW & MINN left...I think they'll win 5 games...only 1 being in question.

NEB has @MINN, NW, @MICH, MSU, @PSU and IOWA left...I think they'll win 4 games...only 2 being in question. (I think the Hawkeyes are tougher than most folks think...haha - even most Hawkeyes.)

MICH has IND, @MSU, NEB, @NW, @IOWA and OSU left...I think they'll win 1 game & lose 3...with 2 being in question.

NW has MINN, @IOWA, @NEB, MICH, MSU & @ILL left...I think they'll win 2 games & lose 2...with 2 being in question.
