Both KC and LV have 6 RB each on the list.
For reference, not even SF (who generally lead the league in revolving door RB) has as many (5).
Gives you a warm-fuzzy feeling knowing that the job could fall to anyone on those teams.

Good stuff Joe!

Personally, I don't get the ADP of the Miami and Houston.
I understand the hopeful bets placed on D. Pierce, even though I think he's most likely 'fools gold'.. kind of a stretch to go into camp expecting a day 1 starter to emerge from a 4th round pick in a light draft that only had 2 guys with any real expectations in it. I think he's still gotta beat out Burkhead and that is no given, by any means. But the bigger surprise to me is Marlon Mack, who wasn't all that great before he blew his achillies. In no way shape or form can I see him being a better asset than Burkhead. Some still project him as the starter, which I just don't understand.

And then there's the utter CF in Miami. Clearly Michel is the best pure RB on the roster, which isn't saying much. And, Mostert is likely the best fit and coach's favorite as they try to bring that SF system to the southern East coast, obviously hes not long for the job IF he gets it though. So why is Edmonds being the first RB taken? I have Edmonds in a fight for #3 with Gaskins, and truth be told, if I had to lay down a wager, my money is on Gaskins winning that battle. Does Edmonds play special teams? Cuz if he doesn't, I'm not even sold on his roster spot, let alone winning the starters job. If I'm draft a Dolphins RB, I'm taking Michel

Waddle does seem like the real deal. And they did bring in Tyreek. Does this downfield threat open up the run game? For me, Flores got the most out of the Dolphins as a team last year. Do they maintain that under a new regime?

I guess those are the million dollar questions. Not sure I want to invest to find out.

Allgeier way underrated IMO.

temper your expectations for a guy that needed to be 22yrs old playing against 18 and 19yr olds in order to dominate at the college level.

Badie has pretty much an identical profile (maybe better?) and is on a much much better team/offense, with the incumbent starters coming off ACL/LCL and ACL injuries and his ADP is 2x as high

Wouldn't give either more than ~10% chance at being fantasy relevant this season, and that might be generous. Happy to let others roster those players if I can get a guy like Darrel Williams in the same spot on draft day, who's proven he can do it in the league and is on a fast paced offense that scores pts

And he didn't exactly 'dominate' then either

In theory, yes, it should, assuming they prove not only willing, but capable, of taking and hitting those shots. No one is playing back just because Reek is there, at least not consistently.

But even if it does open up, it's still a CF, currently, as to the who. I just wouldn't bank on it being Edmonds...imho, he's the 4th best back on that team, certainly not the assumed starter

how fun would that team have been to watch this year with Brady as their QB/"GM in waiting" after landing Tyreek!

Tua gets a chance to prove all the doubters wrong, they'd be foolish to stick with him if he doesn't perform this year with the cast they've assembled. RB situation sucks for fantasy, but all 5 guys could work if their passing game is clicking. Gaskins and Ahmed would both be RB3 upgrades on a lot of teams and they are clearly the 4th and 5th options in MIA, imo

Yes, Brady with Reek, Waddle and Geisiki would have been very interesting. crazy how close the rumors make it seem to have been reality.

Yea they sure would be. I think the true battles are Mostert/Michel, and Gaskins/Edmonds. Maybe I'm a bit harsh on Edmonds and he can be better than Gaskins..maybe

Just looking at some of the potential #2/3 backs. Think Chris Evans supplants Perine as #2 in Cincy. No idea what to think of MIA or HOU (could be a complete re-shuffle - want no part of either). Snell could very easily lose out to McFarland or one of the rooks as #2. Davis-Price could leapfrog both Sermon and Wilson for #2.. Ebner could easily move up to #3 above D. Evans in CHI,

This is why:

According to Over the Cap, Edmonds' deal with the Dolphins is expected to be for $12.6 million over two seasons, with $6.1 million guaranteed and $4.1 million in the form of a signing bonus.

They are not paying a running back $6 million a year to play special teams. Now if you want to argue that the contract they gave him was stupid that's fine, but he won't be on the sidelines making that kind of money. Here are the cap hits of the Dolphins running backs:

Edmonds $5,500,000
Gaskin $2,561,777
Mostert $1,936,765
Michel $1,750,000
Ahmed $895,000

That's a lot of money for gaskins to watch on Sundays. With only ~$22k dead cap hit, he seems like an easy trade for a 6th rd pick if any team is interested

When games matter, I never put any stock in who makes more money, as it will almost always come down to who gives the best chance to win. They could pay Edmonds Zeke money and he may still ride pine when it matters.

Salary to dictate a potential depth chart is a reasonable method at this point in the year I guess, but when the season begins, about all it MIGHT guarantee is a roster spot, depending on how expensive it is to cut a dude.

Patriots paid Bledsoe, at the time I believe he was the highest paid player in the NFL but I could be wrong, to watch Tom Brady play. And a list of similar examples could go on forever

Boy do I disagree. I know. Milk disagrees with Treff. Surprise!!!!

But imo money and draft stock generally means how long a players leash is when they struggle. And whether the injured player comes back to get his role back.

Sure money and draft stock doesn’t mean anything for a players results. But it definitely means something to owners and coaches. They don’t want to admit to be wrong.

Biggest reason why I am avoiding Elijah Mitchell in all drafts.

Actually that's not all that much of a disagreement as it is a conditional explanation

Sure higher pay or higher draft status affords you more chance, you get the first opportunities and probably a second or third chance . You stl end up getting splinters in your ass when someone else on the team outplays you. Nothing proves coaches wrong than W/L records

Of course. But because we are talking about fantasy ball. And with fantasy you can not play with hindsight. Imo you have to take into account money and draft stock. As it tells you more than not who will have the first chances and who will have the longer leash.

I mean. I guess though there are not many examples of players not on top of ecr and salary(or draft status).

So it might be a moot argument.

So in most cases, that happens because a guy was brought in or drafted by the previous coaching staff. But Edmonds was paid this year by this staff so obviously they like him a lot more than the other guys they gave less money too. Right now I think if you asked the staff of the Dolphins the touches would split about 50% for Edmonds, 20% for Mostert, 20% for Michel, and 10% for Gaskin and Ahmed in their ideal situation.
