How hard is it to find good beer out east?

Do you guys get any of the great beers coming out of the Pacific Northwest?

Well, name some names and we'll tell you!

I'm in NYC. The stores near me mostly carry California, Colorado, Midwestern, or New England beers, but there are some stores here where you can get some good Northwest micros.

They had Pyramid ales when I first moved out here but I haven't seen them in a while.

I've seen Widmere and Full Sail and some other stuff out of Oregon.

There's some decent selections available from east coast breweries these days though.

I don't get too many of the Carolina brewers up in NY, which is a shame. When we go visit family in Asheville or south of Charlotte we like to stock up before coming home.

I also saw that Sierra Nevada has opened up a brewery in NC. Good move.

As excited as I am that Sierra Nevada is having their grand opening here in Asheville on the 3rd of August, (have my tickets already) I am more pumped about New Belgium hitting town in 2015.

Man, first Hollywood relocates to Wilmington, then the Ivy League relocates to the Triad/Triangle, now the craft brewing world is relocating to Asheville. That's awesome.

Man, first Hollywood relocates to Wilmington, then the Ivy League relocates to the Triad/Triangle, now the craft brewing world is relocating to Asheville. That's awesome.

The brewery will be located in the River Arts District of Asheville, they broke ground back in March after some lengthy delays due to ground prep work/site discovery stuff. Talked to a New Belguim employee at one of my favorite watering holes, he gave me the 2015 time frame, as well as a teeshirt, key chain, glass, and other sundries with New Belgium written all over the items.
