I have no idea what Banny's thought process is here.

It's really going to piss you off to learn that Hambone is 6/10 against Nova with 3 doubles. Why isn't he hitting in the 2 spot?

HMMM......Arod's production/contract vs. Andrus contract/production

Seems like a no-brainer
Yeah, I would take that. Seems A-Rod has actually become more of a human being since all this stuff almost knocked him out of baseball.

I am a little surprised to see this:

Rangers Designate Ross Ohlendorf For Assignment
By Steve Adams [July 27, 2015 at 4:04pm CDT]
Right-hander Ross Ohlendorf has been designated for assignment by the Rangers, according to the team’s executive vice president of communications, John Blake (on Twitter). The move clears room for righty Phil Klein to come up from Triple-A Round Rock.

The veteran Ohlendorf logged 7 2/3 innings for Texas this season, striking out nine and walking four (one intentional) while allowing three earned runs. It was his first big league action since 2013, but Ohlendorf has a relatively lengthy track record in the Majors. He’s spent parts of eight seasons with the Pirates, Yankees, Padres, Nationals and Rangers in the Majors, totaling 509 1/3 innings of 4.86 ERA to go along with 6.5 K/9 against 3.3 BB/9. He could serve as a depth piece for another club, and if he clears outright waivers, he’d have the option to decline in favor of free agency.

Looks like Klein may get the start that they were holding Wandy out for?

Beltre wasn't exactly getting it done in the 4 spot, probably felt the need to shake things up

And DDJ probably was due a day off

I sort of like Choo leading off in that scenario, with Odor batting behind him. Still gives you 4 LH's at the top but I love Roogie's production in the 2 hole while he has been there.

Agreed, Odor is in a groove in the 2 spot, you don't mess with that, didn't notice Choo in the 2 spot earlier

Not a big fan of 4 lefties at the top of the order even if Beltre wasn't exactly getting it done there

Texas Rangers shuffle bullpen | | Dallas Morning News

Needing a long reliever for Monday night’s game against the New York Yankees, the Texas Rangers brought back right-hander Phil Klein from Triple-A Round Rock.

To make room for Klein, the club sent right-hander Anthony Bass to Round Rock on option assignment. Bass was going to be unavailable to the Rangers for several days after appearing in the previous two games, throwing 39 pitches.

The Rangers also still consider giving a start to left-hander Wandy Rodriguez in the four-game series against the Yankees. Because of that, he was unavailable out of the bullpen.

Klein received the promotion over right-hander Ross Ohlendorf, who made his last injury-rehabilitation appearance with Round Rock on Friday. The Rangers designated Ohlendorf for assignment and hope to keep him in the organization if he clears waivers.

He started twice for the Rangers already this year

Yeah, but I thought they were moving him back to the BP, with intent of leaving him there.

Not that this organization hasn't changed it's mind about starters becoming relievers, and vice-versa before.

Geez, I guess we'll see when we see.

I wonder if they'd consider Martinez in place of Gonzalez, and I don't like Brinson going in this deal.

Maybe it depends on how much money they're willing to eat.

Klein is now a starter? When did this happen?

Pretty sure he's been starting games at RR since his last start for the big league club. Previous post says he's been called up because they need a long reliever for tonight, since Bass won't be available. That means he won't be starting, as it also says they still think Wandy may start one of the games bs the Yankees
