i found it after I saw a tweet by Jeff Marek that said Gillis was coming on HNIC radio and that he expected his co-host, Bobby Holik, to thank Mike Gillis for the ranch (Holik bought a huge ranch in Wyoming with the money Gillis got him as an agent)
