Smart move by EG. It would have likely been career suicide to hold out with all the other Dmen in the system.

Maybe he had a talk with Urbom. He lost his spot to an ECHL Dman and was never able to make it afterwards.

i know its mostly on the agent with this i bet but this kid is smelling like gomez here.

already trying to chase the money? listening to his agent a little too much? everyone remembers gomez's dad right?

or on the flip side it could be that gelinas was the one that was really hammering them on the money and the agent was just doing his clients bidding. that would be just as bad

Prob a combination. He said in interviews that he was letting his agent handle everything and that they would touch base before camp began. Don't forget it took Henrique a while to get done as well. There's no urgency when the RFAs don't have arbitration rights.

Can't be too upset at Gelly trying to get everything he could. Maybe he crashes and burns this season and that's it. Need to try and get the money you can, when you can.

Now it's time for him to prove how good he is. If he puts up 40 points this season he's going to get a hefty raise.
