No. But he's borderline since he played half his career with other teams. And he's apparently not going to be a HOFer.

He was the face of the franchise for 6 or so seasons and he was one of the best players in baseball during that time. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit because I started watching baseball in '87 and Will the Thrill was my first baseball hero.

Is there a comparable Giant who has had his number retired? I can't think of one.

I guess if you retire Clark's number, you have to retire the numbers worn by Bonds and Kent right? Could get complicated.

And what about Nen, arguably the best closer in Giant's history?

Too bad really. We all love Clark, but there's just no way to give him that level of recognition.

I just looked it up. It looks like the most comparable is Cepeda.

The thrill will always be a fan favorite.

Recent success sort of raised the Giants standards of recognition, I'm afraid.

That's who came to mind for me. But Cepeda is in the HOF. I think if Clark ever gets into the HOF, then we do it.

Isn't there a wall of fame somewhere at pacbell?

I wonder if tzill is giving tejada a hand.

There were douchebags in my section that were clapping -- trying to pretend that it was out of respect...myself, I was wondering "is this Pill's chance?"
