Pitching Matchup:

Enright vs. Bumgarner

It'll be interesting to see how Enright adjusts to his last game against the Giants. The Giants were too patient (weird, I know) the first time around and paid the price. The second time around they were jumping all over his first pitch strikes.

As I've been mentioning in DumDumLand, isn't Posey due to take a break from catching? Bat has been a little slumpy, day game after a close night game, can't really rest him vs SD...?

I agree, especially with Franchez back in, that might equalize the effect of taking out a slumping Posey bat. The good thing about Posey though is it seems he still, lines up pitches and makes some loud contact when he's in a slump. If for some reason the Giants got down a couple runs early, you could always just put him back in for Whiteside.

Yeah, I'm surprised he's in there today. I guess Bochy figures his day off is after this game, i.e. 24+ hours until Friday's game.

I'm a little surprised that Buster isn't playing 1b. Good to see Franchez back. Today is an either/or day: either the Giants win or the Padres lose. We need the magic number to be two heading into Friday night.

....and my take on this board vis-a-vis the ESPN board. If it weren't for this board I would have quit ESPN altogether. Don't understand the mentality that conflict with morons is interesting and worthwhile. It's not as if everyone here hasn't had some conflict with one another - but i never took any of you to be idiots, or immature. ESPN is, at it's worst, like a kindergarten class on ice cream day.

Well I'm glad you didn't quit there without knowing about this board first .

Both boards have their pro's and con's for sure. This board isn't as lively or as exciting with back and forth arguments as the ESPN board. That said, this board isn't for everybody and there's nothing wrong with that. I just wanted this board to be a sanctuary for the Game Day Threads. Which it has been.....and exceeded my expectations thanks to you all who participate. That said, it's always fun to read the National Enquirer every once in awhile.

The thing I love about this "bored".....is what gp said, you get all of the signal and none of the noise. During GDT's, I like that very much.
