Prior to today’s game, the Giants optioned RHP Steve Edlefsen to Triple-A Fresno and recalled RHP George Kontos from Triple-A Fresno.

GOOD! I never want to see that dude again!

And I still can't believe the Yankees gave us anything of value for Stewart.

No Giant with much history against Feldman:

Melky Cabrera 6 AB .667 OPS
Aubrey Huff 6 AB .333 OPS
Gregor Blanco 3 AB .333 OPS
Ryan Theriot 2 AB .000 OPS

I've grown to mistrust sinker ballers. Don't want them in my bullpen, if that's all they got.

Damn Nate is 7/42 .167 since May 1st, and 8/59 .136 since April 24th. He better get it together quick. That's damn near useless.

Boch really should bat Nate 8th. Helps Crawfish, and Nate is a career .862 OPS hitter in the 8-hole.

Good idea. I am surprised at how shitty Nate has been. Our OFers just don't ever seem to pan out...

guys, we have a serious issue going on that we need to do something about...

yesterday i went to Pier 39 with some friends, and stopped in that NFL shop. after walking around the store for about 10 minutes i realized, they have just as much, if not more, dodger shit than giants shit...we need to organize, and we need to occupy somewhere.

Scouting Report on Kontos:

A big bodied (6'3"/215) reliever. Throws a low-90s two-seamer that he can run all over the place, and a mid-80s slider with good tilt that generates lots of swings and misses when it's on. Primarily a fly-ball pitcher. Closest comp seems to be Cain.

If dodgers fans want to leave their money is SF, I don't see a problem. And why were you at Pier 39? That's like a SF native going to Alcatraz. It's just not done.

I had mentioned in my GDthread :drama: that Kontos was sporting a 1.71 era in Fresnick and had only walked 7 dudes in 31.2 ip and he has had that type of control throughout his minor league career. He is apparently not a strikeout pitcher by any means. He was a starter in his first 3 minor league seasons I think... So maybe he's got more than just a fastball/slider?
