Six shots in the first period and 13 in the second simply is not going to get it done.

19 shots in 2 periods is low, but not criminally low.

The problem is that it's 19 separate shots, not 15 shots and 4 rebound chances. Not getting any second chances or quality deflections. The Wings are playing us really well.

Honestly, we aren't getting blown out; we've just had a few bad bounces. Unfortunately, we are at the point in the season where bad bounces are REALLY bad.

Another goal by Detroit and we will be in deep. I agree with most of what you posted Vadered. Spot on the rebounds and second chance shots. Detroit really is taking that away.

Gotta say....it is starting to look like the Flyers have shot their wad. This is as far/much as they are going to do this season. Not a complaint.

They are fighting and trying....just not quite there

I agree wbon. They are trying but coming up short on the PP again and they just can't get past the Detroit hustle and defense.

Detroit has done a very good job in taking away Simmonds ferocity and Ghost's explosiveness.

Well, I am pretty sure we-screwed-the-pooch on an opportunity that could of really cemented our chances at post-season play.

That Toronto game tomorrow just went from "A likely win" to "A goddamned necessity."

I am so sick of Simmonds taking STUPID penalties and making stupid selfish plays.
Just saying....

I think you guys are in good shape, Bruins are sliding & you guys got a game on hand over them for the final wildcard spot,Toronto Maple Leafs are basically playing the same roster as the Toronto Marlies did to start the season, Pens might not have an incentive to win on Saturday if we could beat the Capitals tonight :hope:, & I think you guys would matchup better in the first round against the Capitals than you would against the Panthers.

Bad couple of games against the Pens & Red Wings however, it appears the Flyers' weakness is defending speedy forwards.

On rested reflection, I have the feeling that the sheer speed of the Red Wings, the ugly schedule that the Flyers have had to play and the number of "Must Win" games they have faced lately was just too much to handle.

I have nitpicks with some things that happened in the game, but that can be said of any game. Overall, they showed up and they were out skated.

Bring on the Maple Dogs!!! We are still in this damn thing.

I have to say, as much as Detroit muddied the shit out of this game and got away with all kinds of interference and stick fouls, we did not match their desperation as a team and that's why we lost.

How on earth did they not call Richards for hooking Ghost on the play that directly led to the first goal of the game!?! That was a complete joke!! There were numerous other stick fouls and interference penalties that went uncalled, but Detroit is pretty damn good when scoring first, so even just that one non-call definitely hurt.

Quite simply, the officiating was a complete mystery to me in this one. It does not explain the loss, but it's frustrating to deal with regardless in a game of this magnitude.

Now we've gone ahead and put ourselves in a situation where we're hoping Detroit whips Boston tonight and we do the same to Toronto. That will about wrap it up. Otherwise, we're setting up to miss the playoffs via a fucking tiebreaker or in the very last game of the season. Remembering all of the points we've tossed away this season and that potential outcome drives me completely nuts.

WTF?!?
IS this the same team that looked so good recently (ie...before the Penguins game?)
Come on boys...move your feet. Dip that shoulder. Keep the puck in front of you in all three zones. Finish your checks.
THIS!!!!!!!!!
