I disagree with them at Catcher, Cal is every bit as good as Kirk or Jensen.
100% for sure. Problem is the same with Kelenic being a million times worse than Winker because their MLB numbers are terrible (well for sure Cal) before they “got it”. Pretty sure since July, Cal has been one of the best catchers in the sport but don’t quote me o no that.

Even with Cals terrible start his numbers are still comparable if not better then the Blue Jays catchers

Comparable, sure. But if you are a Seattle catcher with no name his first 100 AB’s count for a lot if you want a national writer to say something.

I would think a reporter would do their research past the players first 100 abs before writing an article about it.

My fear will be the same as it is in every regular season game. If they get a 2-3 run deficit early can they sustain a rally to make it up or are we praying for a series of long balls to scrap out a way to win. They live and die by the long ball too much and in the playoffs teams are going to stay away from pitching to the hot HR hitters. They aren't going to give Jrod, Haniger, or Suarez meatballs to make up score with. Maybe they still pitch to Cal?

I hope they change the lineup such that those guys all hit in series so they can't just walk them all. Leave every HR hitter back to back and hope the others find a run somewhere of their own?
1st things 1st.

Go win.

Game 1

Then go win...game 2

Odds are not with..
Looser
..of game 1

You would think. But are national reporters right now not parroting what local reporters have said about Russell Wilson for that past year? Julio is going to win ROTY this year, but I would put money on it had he not showed out during the HR derby he wouldn’t win.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot OVER !

What emergence are we talking about as of late ??

Here is Kelenic stats:

Past 7 games - 23 at bats 1 single base hit and his avg is a microscopic .043 over that 7 game span

Past 15 games - 53 at bats 9 base hits and his avg is .170 over that 15 game sampling period

His career MLB batting avg has hardly changed at all including his recent callup - it is still .168

What is Dipoto smoking ?

FWIW - The Mariners and the Mets are the only 2 teams riding a 3 game win streak into post season play.

I believe in our ball club. Good pitching and good defense with some timely hitting is a winning formula in the playoffs.

Julio needs to be careful as they are going to bust him up and in with fast balls and off speed down and away.

Rest assured they will pitch around Julio in the lineup to get to France in the 2 hole to roll over on one into a DP.

If Santana - Haniger and Kelenic have a good weekend, I see us winning 2 of 3.
Good pitching..
Is a must for playoffs...
Defence wins championships..

But you can't win a game without scoring..

But defence stops the other team from
Scoring

..or at least as much..as your team.

.hence
..the run differential

Lineup looks like:

1. Julio
2. France
3. Suarez
4. Big Dumper
5. Haniger
6. Santana
7. Kelenic
8. Frazier
9. Crawford

Totally agree with moving Haniger to #5 - Having France and Haniger back to back after Julio was a recipe for alot of double plays.

I like the Big Dumper batting clean up, he drives the ball well and makes consistent contact vs a high strike out %

As I stated maybe in another thread: Our key to offensive success lies in Kelenic - Haniger and Santana. All the others we know what we expect to get and should get. Those 3 have to hit to above their past averages for us to succeed

Prob is average and BB gets guys on base
Then you need to hit them in...

1.Ave+BB+stolenbases

2Ave+BB Julio for lack of anyone..
Julio could 3 or 4 as well
.

3ave...france
4hits+HRS guys are next haniger

5conforto..

6 hr hitters with not so good an ave ...suarez
7..lewis

8catch R aliegh, murphy

9 same as 1 with not as good an ave..moore ,haggerty

In the theary...anyway.

If winkers ave would have been up..
270 or 300..he would have been a 2 or 3
Hitter..

Yeah so you build a line up
That..would go against ..the other teams

Weakness..for that day..

With who you have...

Also in theory...

In reality..does not always go..theoretically
