I know he gave up that hr to Galvis and he has always given up a lot of hrs, and we have a hitters ballpark but he had done ok in his previous couple appearances with the Braves. I'm thinking maybe we try to pick him up for next season to try and turn this thing around. I'd be willing to offer a couple of our pitching prospects, like maybe Biddle and Martin or Pettibone.

still can't believe we traded gavin floyd AND gio gonzalez for him. i really like gio too. he was just 20 when the phils got him and dumped him at reading. he held his own with a 4.66 era and 9.7 k/9 mark.

a comment from that time frame made me laugh though..

"Now Pat Gillick has the surplus of starters, with Brett Myers, Cole Hamels, Jamie Moyer, Jon Lieber, Adam Eaton, and Garcia all under contract."

yeah, it's amazing that the last two guys on that list were supposedly the biggest acquisitions and they turned out to be the most disappointing, least productive, least necessary starters of all of them.
