Today it's all about passing. No QB's in this years class, so you have to look at the receivers. Tony Gonzalez for sure. Running Back, Edgerrin James for sure. Alan Faneca is overdue.

Defense: Ed Reed, best player of all the finalists. Ty Law at Cornerback. That's all the players I would put in and finally Gil Brandt, the greatest scout of all time.

I think Atwater should get in and will eventually. Bruce will also get in, as well as Air Coryell. But, picks for this year are in bold.

Steve Atwater, safety – 1989-1998 Denver Broncos, 1999 New York Jets

Champ Bailey, cornerback – 1999-2003 Washington Redskins, 2004-2013 Denver Broncos

Tony Boselli, tackle – 1995-2001 Jacksonville Jaguars

Isaac Bruce, wide receiver – 1994-2007 Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams, 2008-09 San Francisco 49ers

Don Coryell, coach – 1973-77 St. Louis Cardinals, 1978-1986 San Diego Chargers

Alan Faneca, guard – 1998-2007 Pittsburgh Steelers, 2008-09 New York Jets, 2010 Arizona Cardinals

Tom Flores, coach – 1979-1987 Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, 1992-94 Seattle Seahawks

Tony Gonzalez, tight end – 1997-2008 Kansas City Chiefs, 2009-2013 Atlanta Falcons

Steve Hutchinson, guard – 2001-05 Seattle Seahawks, 2006-2011 Minnesota Vikings,
2012 Tennessee Titans

Edgerrin James, running back – 1999-2005 Indianapolis Colts, 2006-08 Arizona Cardinals,2009 Seattle Seahawks

Champ Bailey should be a lock. Only 13 players have ever gone to more than 10 Pro Bowls. Champ was a Pro Bowler 12 times. Of those 13 players, every single one of them was a first ballot, first year Hall of Famer. If he doesn't get in this year, he would be the first with that Pro Bowl resume to not make it in year one. I don't see that happening.

Ed Reed and Tony Gonzalez are no-brainers.
I think Champ Bailey should get in.
Faneca missed out last year so I think he might get in and that might keep Hutchinson out again.
I think the voters are going to put Edgerrin James in but I'm not a believer. I would prefer Hutch.

While maybe all of them are deserving of the HOF, I'm going to single out Don Coryell, who might be the least likely candidate to make the Hall on that list - certainly in the bottom half at best. But this was the guy who pretty much brought us the philosophy of the QB throwing to a spot vs just hitting the receiver once he got open. I won't go so far as to say he reinvented the passing game, but he sure as hell made it much more difficult for defenses to stop.

Reed, Gonzalez, Bailey, Boselli and a homer pick in Lynch...and because I want more defense than offense plus everybody else is relatively equal. Coryell should've been in there long ago.

Butler should be a finalist over Atwater and Lynch IMO.
