And Rosenthal still argues it should have been someone else. He leads the freaking league in saves!!!!!!!!! It never should have even come down to this, but happy for him.

I think Iwakuma also deserves a spot on the All-Star team. If Iwakuma pitched for a team like the Red Sox or Yankees there would be little doubt. He has a lower ERA and WHIP than Yu Darvish, Max Scherzer and David Price.

Iwakuma probably wasn't considered because of the time he missed and because he's been roughed up a couple of times recently. Maybe if he'd been able to pitch from the beginning of the season until now, he'd be on the team, but as long as he keeps pitching like he did today, he'll make more all-star teams down the road.

There was some opposition to signing Rodney during the offseason, but it would appear it was a smart move. Rodney is leading the AL in saves, has an outstanding 1.98 ERA and in his last 21 appearances has only given up 2 ER for an ERA of 0.90.

I had no problem them signing him if he was just part 2 (after Cano signing) of a 4 part off season. To be the 2nd and final part of the off season is what still bothers me. And I don't count Hart and Morrison as off season parts. They were both bonus, low cost moved in my mind.

Think the general sentiment of most fans. Not against his signing but just he as the other "big addition".
