Overrated by who? We all think he sucks

Xanders got axed after making the playoffs and winning a game in the tourney for Denver in 2011.It comes back to what is deemed truly successful. 10 wins vs bad teams, loses piled up vs good ones. Barely grabbing the last seed then bouncing out in round 1. Is that really success? If Stafford can't improve on his 3-38 or whys ever it is vs winning teams, no, I don't expect this regime to last.
And if they miss the playoffs....
Kyle Van Noy had six tackles his rookie year. He was a second round pick too.
Mayhew did say "it's up to Travis", on if he starts or not.Mayhew was on fire last year, wasn't he?

So it's not like he's the one making decisions around here. (Freese did more damage than any 7th rounder I can remember. And Lawson and Reed combined for three, count em THREE tackles. So I think on fire is fair.)
I am excited for TJ Jones coming off his redshirt season....I guess there's no sense in worrying about it. It would be different if Mayhew was trying to build the team through the draft.

Travis Swanson gets to decide if he's starting.I'm going to take the next few days and try to come up with something about the upcoming Lions season that excites me. I'm sure I can do it, but TJ isn't doing it for me.

Just think if he picks Tight End to start at. That'd be exciting, right?
Is it more than the Broncos and Cowboys are willing to pay theirs? He'd be crazy not to pick WR. Have you seen what the Lions are paying them these days?

And other fans will always find ways to nit-pick an 11-5 record.Such and such teams? You mean shitty teams with bad records. Fans with low standards will always support this regime.

In your entirely hypothetical scenario devised entirely to serve your point and make yourself look right? No, I would not find that to be a success following the great year we just had.I disagree that wanting and hoping the Lions can finally beat some winning teams after 6 years is nit-picking.
If the Lions beat 10 losing teams this year, lose 5 vs playoff teams, then get blown out with a chance to win the North, then lose in round 1 of the playoffs again, I will not consider it a success. Will you?
