This Giants team day after day never gives up ever. They just keep coming and coming and the other night I thought of the bulls in Pamplona ,Spain. The running of the bulls in Pamplona has been around for so many years. People party for like 9 days . Mostly a bunch of drunk morons from the night before think they are bullfighters and challenge these bulls that are let loose in the city down the cobblestone streets and when you mess with the bulls you usually get the horns at some point.

The Giants remind me of the running of the bulls. They come at teams snorting fire and when they get messed with it seems like their horns come out and they do some damage. It's the whole team hitters, starting pitchers, but for me the Bullpen has the most bulls ready to roll. Seems right that the bullpen has the bulls ready. They come charging out and have dominated the league.

It has not been one guy either. The whole bullpen has come out charging the mound to do their thing. Some great stories have emerged from the pen and they deserve to be recognized for their contributions so far. Simply said the Giants bullpen has been big in their 42-21 record. Most people forget how much the bullpen has kept the Giants in games all year. Look back on this year and see how many times the Giants have been out of games. The pen has held and that gives the hitters time to do their thing and make the 18 comeback wins so far.

As they say lets look at the numbers...

Jean Machi - Is good enough this year to be considered for the All Star game. 5-0 with a 0.32 ERA 8 holds. Those are out of this world type stats.

Santiago Cassila - 1-1 with a 1.37 ERA 8 holds...Too bad he got injured but he will be back and he is a important piece to the team. Casilla has been nails for years now in the bullpen.

Javier Lopez - 1-0 1.38 ERA 6 holds. Lopez has been one of the best lefty specialists in the game over a number of years. Might be the smartest player on the team. One of Sabean's best pick ups that has been part of WS teams here.

Jeremy Affeldt - 2-1 1.71 ERA 9 holds. Affeldt who can get some screwball injuries has been solid contributing to both WS teams. His biggest moment was in Philly NLCS 2010 when during a bench clearing brawl he stayed in the Pen and warmed up because the team needed him there. He dominated and the rest was history. When he is on no one can touch him. And no Jeremy you can't play a instrument on stage yet. I still think you might get too pumped up and fall off the stage and end up on the DL.

Juan Gutierrez -1-1 2.93 ERA with a more impressive WHIP of 0.90 and 8 holds. Gutierrez has really come on as of late and his 8 holds should be noted.

Yusmeiro Petit - 3-3 4.60 ERA His ERA is not the greatest but it is lower than Lincecum's right now. He has saved Bochy's behind time and time again filling in for guys like Cain. His ERA does not reflect how important his chewing up of innings has provided for the team.

Sergio Romo - 3-1 3.12 ERA 0.77 WHIP. Romo keeps doing his thing and now has 20 saves. Could be a ALL Star this year. When Wilson went down it was Romo who stepped up and led the Giants to a WS title as the closer in 2012. Where would this team be without Romo and that's what's up.

Others have contributed and their contributions are not forgotten.

The bullpen has been huge and the next time one of the bulls comes Rock N out of the Pen look out because their horns will be out ready to do some damage. All hail the Giants Bullpen Bulls.

Go Giants !!
