Nope. Gabriel Dean of Cornell beat Ruth 7-4 at the Southern Scuffle on Jan 2nd. Ruth got his revenge with a 5-3 win in the semifinals last night over Dean.

Last time Sheptock and Ruth faced each other, Ruth won 7-4 in the finals of the Nittany Lion Open in 2011.

oh well, they were the weakest wrestling program on that list anyway.

What is weird is Cornell has a very strong wrestling program, but if you look at teams that have won the D1 NCAA Championship, there is a Cornell that won it, but it is not them. It is (now) DIII Cornell College in Iowa that had won it.

That's probably it. He grew up in Cedar Rapids and wrestled for Dan Gable at Iowa. I believe he still holds the Iowa record for most career wins. He's Wisconsin's coach.

When my HS coach started coaching as a volunteer, Barry Davis was a wrestler at that HS he was coaching at during that time.
