Deon Bush is back. Starting safety?

1 year $1.4 million, per Adam Shefter. Not much, good on Pace for bringing him back. He barely played last year thanks to HHCD and Jackson being healthy. But in 2018 when Jackson got hurt, Bush seemed to play awfully well. Will he get a shot to claim the starting strong safety job or are we just retaining him as quality depth?

Bush has been a pre-season murderer. It's clear he's a class above everyone he shares the field with among the #2's. Which you could still call bull shit on. Except every shot he's gotten to play. Jackson injury, etc. He's been very good.

Limited sample size but you have to think he's chomping at the bit for his opportunity. We still have to sign or draft since we now only have two safeties on the roster. However, I'm beginning to think he goes into camp as the starter. Which I'm more than fine with giving him a shot at.

He's not a good fit though, and between Quinn and Foles, we just spent a whole lot of cash. Bush is a better fit and maybe even a better player than HHCD, so might as well give him a shot. Pace might plan to draft a guy too, we'll see. I'd like to see our 2nd rounders spent on the O line though.

That little difference in cap is a big deal right now. We had a little over 9 mil before we signed Bush.

Plus, HHCD is fine... but whatever. I think we can get his production last year out of Bush.
