A little late.

Anyone at the RJ jersey number retiring ceremony?

I like both of the trades we did in the last 24 hours. It's better to get lottery tickets than nothing at all when those guys leave via free agency. It will be 3-4 years before we find out if we hit the lotto on either of these guys.

Garcia is a 19 year old starting LHP. Garcia is 3-1 with a 0.96 ERA and 26 strikeouts in a combined nine games (six starts) between Class A Tri-City and rookie-level Greeneville.

Lugo has hit just .257/.287/.343 in 408 plate appearances split between Class A Lansing and Class A+ Dunedin this season, although he’s been a bit young for both levels. MLB.com ranked him the Blue Jays’ 12th-best prospect. Before the season started, a few other sites had him ranked as the #14-15 Tor prospect. He started in the season in A+ ball & struggles. After returning to A ball in July, he has been on a tear. Even though he is a SS right now, it sounds he lacks the speed & quickness to stick there & many peg him to moved over to 3B at some point in the future.

Good start by Ray. Tomas getting another off day. It makes sense because both Ender & Peralta are playing well & Tomas has been scuffling. The long season is probably getting to him.

Early run. Although the Reds SP held us to 1 run, he is not missing bats & we are getting solid contact.

Split with a not so bad Washington club and a series win vs the Reds. If we can actually win the next two series vs crappy Philly, and @ not so good Atlanta we'll be looking pretty good.

The last time they played Philly there was a sweep...by Philly. The D-backs have to go 7-0 or 6-1 to make themselves relevant and no way they do that.

Everyone ready for yet another "Can we get to .500 game"?!!!! I think they are like 1-13 in those so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Umm, I think we can safely say we are .500 now.

Yeah, they made sure of that tonight. Now they have to build this win streak and move past the .500 hover zone.

Seriously, Chip Hale is such a genius. David Peralta has 10 hits and 8 rbi in his last 14 at bats and Hale benches him for some guy I never heard of named Jamie Romak. What a brilliant move.

And to top it off, Hale leaves in a guy named Keith Hessler, another guy I never heard of, in a crucial situation in the game. He promptly blows it by allowing a run scoring single and a three run home run. Another fantastic move by Hale.

Legitimate question. Does Hale actually want to win, or is he purposely trying to lose? Because I have never seen a manager in my life ever put his own team at such a disadvantage by playing people consistently that should not be playing like Hale does all the time.

Yeah, gotta agree. Mystifying moves by Hale last night. There were two terrible calls that hurt the D-backs, but benching Peralta now? HUH?!
