Not buying it. For the Giants to win 96 games they would have to go 18-2 to finish the season. To win 93 games they would have to go 15-5. Given that they have gone 14-6 in their last 20, this seems reasonable. Meanwhile, and to your point, LA has gone 11-9 in their last 20. LA only needs to go 12-7 in their las 19 to win 93.

I think 93 games wins it. If SF reels off 18 more wins in their last 20, fuck it, they can have it.

Well, seeing as though the Dodgers are 1-50 when trailing after 7 innings, I figured being down two runs with no hits in the 6th was a bad omen for a team that does not rally much.
