Congrats to TTU

Since it seems educational ranking of universities is tied to their attractiveness to other conferences during expansion talks these days, we gotta offer a congrats to Texas Tech on achieving their Tier 1 Research University status earlier this week.

Perhaps next on the list is AAU membership for the Red Raiders? Improving their academic standing will go a long way towards university attractiveness to conferences like the PAC, should the B12 ever implode.

Haha, well TTU was a Tier3 university before I think...basically on the lowest rung of universities.

OU is Tier1 too apparently. Okie St is tier3 tho.

I was rather shocked to see UNT also made the cut. Mean Green to the B12!

Houston earned Tier One status about three years ago. Hasn't gotten us into a P5 conference yet, but that -- along with building a new on-campus stadium, hiring Tom Herman and his coaching staff, going 13-1 this past season, winning a conference championship, beating FSU in the Peach Bowl, and putting together a pretty solid recruiting class yesterday -- seem to have us favorably positioned to join a P5 conference in the not too distant future. At the very least, Tier One status is a useful retort when someone calls us Cougar High. Scoreboard, bitches!

In new sorting of colleges, Dartmouth falls out of an exclusive group
