Most probably expected this. Nice to see it happen for Hurdle. He seems like a genuine person, and that he really cares about his clubhouse. It's not a surprise ball players have said they like playing for him.

Not a surprise, but what is a surprise is that only 5 NL managers voted for him. Fredi Gonzalez got 3. Not sure about Matheny, but he should be ahead of Gonzalez, the job he did with the Cardinals young pitchers is just amazing to me, and now I want to go cut off my thumbs for admitting that.

He did a good job, although it's funny that the top 3 Hurdle, Fredi, and Matheny are terrible in game managers.

As it was so eloquently stated to me by cocktailsfor2, every manager makes bad in game calls and good in game calls, as a fan you are just more apt to remember the bad. For this season I would say Hurdle was probably better than average on his in game decision making. In the end, no matter how good or bad he was, the players on the field decided all 162 regular season games.
