A bit surprised. I'll have an aneurysm if they even think about letting this guy play anything but FS.

The issue with Parker is he can't play press which is a big deal in the defense that he is in. Initial signs do say he could be a pretty solid zone CB (recall his performance against Buffalo against Sammy Watkins). Truthfully, he would be a much, much, much better FS than he would be a corner. I just hope Bob Sutton and the rest of the coaching staff agrees with my take on it and returns him to a safety role that he had while Eric Berry was out.

Good FS, mediocre and flawed FS playing CB is a no no against the right QB. Needs the play to be in front of him.

This is what I said on the 22nd of November. I might change the wording in the last line so it doesn't contradict itself, but besides that, this still seems to hold true.

I can't read Twitter at work, so apologies if the above posts say it, but I thought it was 6 for 30 (5M per) as opposed to 5 for 30 (6M per).

Everything I have said says it is 5 years. AP has it at 5 years. I haven't seen any kind of option or anything like that so it is 5 years. It appears to be incentive based given there is 8M in guaranteed money.

Ok, so he got his 6 per. I was hoping it dropped a bit, but maybe the guarantee and structure is where the negotiation helped.

i'm actually very suprised they not only got him back but pretty much payed him what he wanted as well. hoping he doesn't slack off after a big payday...

Yeah, it sounds like it is 5/25 that can max into 5/30 with incentives based on INT's and Playoff appearances, but this should get interesting. Chase Daniel has to be a cap casualty soon to accommodate. The defense that ended the year #2 in PPG is pretty much all back + DeVito and Johnson. This could be a dynamite unit next year.

Parker's deal is backloaded. It's essentially 3 years, $12M.

Ron Parker tied for the worst Tackling Efficiency vs the run of any safety last season. Missed 12 of 36 tackle attempts. #Chiefs
