Bench came up huge tonight.

3 of the 4 guys off the bench have a double digit +/- tonight

Griffin Kornet and pritch all getting absolutely no time is a little concerning for different reasons.

If the C's are winning, not too concerning though. ;)

Out of that trio, the only one I'm really rooting for is Fast PP.

He's just unlucky... buried on the depth chart. But he'll almost certainly get chances this season.

Well I just don’t wanna run up Al’s minute count too high.

And if Kornet can’t get run Without bob he’s basically deadweight

Pritch needs time to keep developing. And when they give smart/brog/white/brown a day off he can step and grab some minutes

Or you try to use him and gallo to add the right fit

Vonleh seems like a serviceable, regular season back-up on this front.

Kornet is trash, unfortunately.

I just don’t see the former being a long term thing when he’s never been a good nba player and especially defensively

Seems like a long shot

Vonleh doesn't have to be great. And I like Kabengele as another spot option.

The C's are so strong at wing and guard that they just need a body or two to man the 5... at least during the regular season.

It'll be interesting to see if and who the C's sit tonight (back end of a b2b).

Kornet has graded as a good defensive c in his limited minutes so they seemed to think he could replace theis

But this is not a great start

I'm not too worried about it... we got enough bodies for now, and RWIII will be back to warm up for the playoffs.

Keep an eye out for Kabengele... he looked decent in Summer League.

I was a a fan of his coming out f the draft

Happy to get him on a two way.

If he is good enough to add to their roster it just means they’d have another 2 way slot open.

Good result on first Away B2B.

We are so deep at wing and guard

But if when we play the few dominant bigs and one game can get out of hand

D White with quick releases now. Big change

The 5 is a soft spot with RWIIIin injured, sure... and we're not gonna win every game regardless...

... but we've already gone up against Embiid this young season and passed that test.

To your point we have had Embid and Bam immediately. I suppose Jokic would be another big to worry about. Hard to argue with you tho. We are deeeeepp

4-2 after 6 games... not bad. Some early season trends I'm noticing:
  • The C's are managing regular season playing time for both Al Horford and Malcolm Brogdon. Big Al sat the second game of a b2b, and Brogdon is averaging less than 23 mpg. This is to be expected and good.
  • Team defense has largely been bad. Part of this is because the C's are upping their pace this year, part of it is because RWIII is out, and part of it is because we're obviously seeing low-intensity regular season effort out there. I'm not too worried about it.
  • Tatum and Brown are both averaging over 36 mpg. Ideally, I'd like to see this come down a little. We need more blowouts like last night to make it happen.
  • Brogdon will be a huge asset to this team if we can keep him healthy. He's an ideal option to run the second team offense.

Haven't had much to because most of it has been said.

I disagree with sitting a player an entire game because he played the night before. If you can't play 80+ every night, then work at Walmart or Wendy's. Every player should be able to play 48 minutes 10 nights in a row. Most play about 36. I'm 72 and a few weeks ago carried 4000 lbs of pavers five days in a row to build a patio and we worked from 7 until 6 at night. Horford is half my age and can't play basketball for 30 minutes two nights in a row? Better go to one of those cremation info sessions. I don't think they should be paid for taking a night off. What a waste of $250,000.

They don’t exactly have a ton of big wings to give those guys rest

They’re mostly guards or bigs (pf/c)

Grant
Gallo
Hauser
Bob
Al
Kornet
Vonleh
Blake

Smart
White
Brog
Pritch

All you really god left js Jackson, who just isn’t that good

You have somewhat of a point.

The Celtics are helped in that many of their guards are big/tough enough to defend the wing at least reasonably well. Marcus Smart (of course), but also Brogdon and White. Theoretically, these guys can spell Tatum and Brown for stretches.

Hauser appears to be working his way into a minor rotational role, too... he's a liability on defense, of course, but that shot is sweet.
