I think this board is excellent. Pretty amazing since there's such little moderation. This just proves that letting sports fans police themselves is the best way to go. I genuinely don't dislike anybody who posts here regularly. I learn quite a lot from them, actually.

Anyhoo, how would you rate the M's board on HOOP compared to CBS/ESPN/ETC?

Til tonight I hadn't logged into SportsHoopla since signing up one night almost 5 years ago. It's changed quit a bit. It was wild west days back then.

I liked the M's board better on CBS only because there were alot more participants IMO but overall this site is much better with posters all over the different boards.

I guess I didn't pay attention to the CBS part. I liked that a lot as well for the same reason as you said. Luckily we have a lot of those posters on here. It took me a while to find this site after CBS went down, but glad I did....even though I get a little...cough, cough...carried away at times.

I love SportsHoopla. No question is it way superior to CBS IMO. Not just the Mariners board, but the site overall together. Back on CBS I posted mostly only on the Seahawks and Mariners board, but the general board is too much fun on this site to ignore.

The only thing I miss abut CBS was some of the guys who never made the switch (kahlua or whatever his name was, enjoyed watching him and Cotton go at it), also it felt more active at times.

WOW! Almost forgot about those two and their epic battles. Thanks for the blast from the past memory. It would be nice to hear from them both again.

I for sure loved the CBS board but I didn't know how good it was over at SportsHoopla. SportsHoopla crushes CBS!!! I completely agree, there are a few guys that didn't make the jump that i would love to see on SportsHoopla.

I had a good time on ESPN going pretty far back. I started on there in '99. Our team board was much more active on there, than here. But the last few years before they shut down it was basically overrun with shitty fans and trolls and it was hard to tell the difference between the 2.

I like the Hoop quite a bit too. You don't have to post like you're pandering to a 12 year old audience with their mothers standing over their shoulder. There are places to you can act like an over emotional teenage girl and others that are kept more on task and everyone seems to be able to generally tell the difference and police themselves.

There's a lot of negativity on this board, surrounding the team, and understandably so. That is why I liked other forums. However this forum is great because there are more participants, as others have said.

I miss the ESPN boards just because Angel's fans knew me, hated me and I predicted every shitty year they had before they had it lol. I wasn't around this year to predict but I also didn't feel like they would fail as hard as they have before..they actually made it to the playoffs so maybe I shut up at the right time lol.

The ESPN board was full of people who knew little about baseball, and blindly rooted for all things Mariners all the time.

I like it much better here because being realistic with comments isn't automatically branded "negative" or "trolling" by a shrieking chorus of idiots. They also don't have moderator mommy and daddy to whine to when real fans say things they don't like, so that's also a plus.

Some minor differences with Fan Nation, but waaaaaay better and more forums than just sports. I especially like NSFW.

Before ESPN board went robust, I didn't see it all that different then this one.
