That is actually only half true. If sent down Peter would have to clear waivers. That is based on GP, not salary.

from NHLSCAP.com

-- “The waiver status of a player is determined by whether he has a 1-way or 2-way contract.”
Answer: False. Whether a player has a 1-way or 2-way contract has absolutely no effect on his waiver status – it has to do with the number of years since the player signed his first NHL contract and the number of NHL games he’s played since signing. In fact, there are ten (10) players who have 1-way contracts for 2007-08 and are exempt from waivers.

-- “The AHL salary of a player determines whether he’s subject to waivers.”
Answer: False. That is a potential consideration for recall waivers, which is discussed below.

Am I the only one that thinks Desbiens should not be anywhere near this roster?
I would almost prefer *spits* Tanner Glass in the lineup.

anyways, I have found my whipping boy for the season. :D

The good:
- We were physical: Edler, Hamhuis, Ballard and Alberts all with some big hits.
- Our PK was great. Malhotra was a beast.
- Luo was outstanding

The not so good:
- dumb penalties. I'm looking at you Kes and Bieksa
- sloppy in our own zone. A few too many cute passes from the boards to the middle.

The ugly:
- Shootouts

overall a fun game to watch for the physical aspect of it and for the great goaltending (at both ends).

Lou has a terrible record in the shootout.... was 20-22 last night.... now 20-23.... do the rules allow ypou to change goalies for the shootout? might be something to consider if the rules allow it....

yes you can. There ws a coach who did it a couplr of years ago (Ron Wilson maybe?), and the cold goalie went 0 for 3. I don't think anyone has done it since.
kind of an insult to the goalie, if you ask me. "OK, you've gotten us this far, now have a seat, while tis oter guy determines the outcome."

Bolduc sprained his ankle in the loss, looks like he'll be out for a bit (2 weeks or so I'm guessing)

Raymond with a hand injury too.
missed practice today, is questionable for Monday's game.

wonder if he'll dance w/ Hordi (and his new found motivation).
I noticed that Hordi turned down Stortini of all people last night.
