I read an article earlier today saying these games for the Phils really do have meaning and value, for the draft that is, if they continue to win they will not have protection for thier 1st round pick as they would fall into the middle of the pack, they honestly need to lose and fall into the top 10 picks and draft protection or risk losing their 1st rounder in a future deal.

Not saying they need to play to lose but to say these games are meaningless is foolish, every action has a counteraction and the counteraction could be losing a solid draft prospect in the future in a deal instead of grooming and watching him progress in our system not in another orgs farm!

By meaningless, I mean that we're not going to the playoffs

Of course, there are still important things that can happen i.e. watch Dom Brown, watch Halladay's performance, see more of the young arms (Diekman, Garcia, Rosenberg).

Plus the Phillies are fun to watch no matter what.

I enjoy watching these meaningless games but only to see how Cesar, Darin, Cody, Freddy, Cameron (?), and Dom progress with their hitting and fielding, despite having to watch JPop, Berry, Jr., and Bernie flounder.
