so charles woodson is a raider again?

Happy if this is where he ends his career.

I know his ability to cover is long long gone...but hopefully as a Safety he can still bring something..

Raiders D was Putrid last year...

he played 'ok' at safety last year...just ok. i think he lacks the instincts for the position. incredible corner, so so safety

wouldnt have minded if the pats took a flier on him

world, i loved that kid since they got him from MSU

hobey baker finalist

dominated in the NCAA's even at his size

bruins called him up last year before the playoffs, he impressed me enough in his very small cup of joe that i clamored for him all year

i kept saying over and over again this kids got potential to be something special
problem is the bruins were deep in veteran defenseman...and claude loves his vets

krug sticks next year...would love to see a full season of him

ox was dead on with his greg hawgood comparisons

NEW YORK — Long before Torey Krug made his spectacular arrival on the Bruins scene, there was Hawgie Hockey.
In the late ’80s, before Krug was born, defenseman Greg Hawgood electrified Boston with his dynamic skating and offensive flair. Hawgood was just a trifle bigger than the 5-foot-9 Krug — at about 5-10 and 185 pounds — but brought the same sort of highly entertaining skills.
Like Krug, Hawgood — who had posted monster numbers in juniors, with point totals of 119, 123 and 133 in his final three years with Kamloops (WHL) — burst onto the scene in the playoffs. After appearing in just one regular-season game during the 1987-88 campaign, he notched a goal during the B’s run to the Stanley Cup finals and then really took off the following season, when he had 16 goals and 40 points in 56 games.

B’s fans absolutely adored Hawgood. Alas, his star soared quickly — and then fizzled.
Hawgie played in a league that still regarded hooking, holding and interference as legal defensive moves, and there was a premium on big, physical defensemen.
“It was usually big, strong guys who would pound the crap out of you in front of the net,” said B’s president Cam Neely, Hawgood’s former teammate. “The emphasis on defense certainly wasn’t there back then as it is with Torey. He’s more conscious of his own end. But there are similarities as far as getting the puck up the ice and creating opportunities.”
Hawgood played just two seasons with the B’s before being dealt to Edmonton for Vladimir Ruzicka.
In the first two games against the Rangers, Krug created a serious buzz with his skating and skills — as he scored a goal in Game 1, and added a goal and assist in Game 2. Last night in Game 3, he played 18:08 and recorded four shots on net in the Bruins’ 2-1 victory.
But as gifted as he is with the puck, Krug might not be here if he hadn’t improved his play without it during this season at Providence (AHL), his first full pro year.
“First and foremost, if you’re not going to get the job (done) defensively they can’t afford to throw you out there on the ice,” said Krug. “Offensively I was where they wanted me to be; defensively I wasn’t quite there. There’s still lots of things I can work on and that they’re harping on with me.”
Like any smaller defenseman, Krug has to rely on positioning, quickness and patience. But as he figures things out defensively, he’s capable of doing things with the puck that bring the crowd to its feet. Just like Hawgood.

He needs some help. He's hitting like a mofo right now but not getting RBI or runs...

yep. as soon as somebody decides to get on in front of him, he'll get more

9th in the league in runs scored.

mpl-like - if you subtract home runs, he has more runs scored than miggy and trout

i had a hawgood jersey when i was a kid

dude could absolutely fly...just too small for that time in the NHL when smaller defensemen were seen as weak in a big mans game

Don't forget to take out his 4-5 worst games out of his averages, just because.
